i just went back to pg 1 too see your recipe.... i think your box is gonna be way to short ... 3ft tall is that correct? x 2 ft wide ?
those 5 gallon buckets will take up half your hieght basically.
for fenting i guess you can just do like you say 1 fan on both sides and 1 on the top blowing out ... are you tring to grow covertly ?

original design was a 4ft ht box but I figured with the 3ft 2in I'd be covered rethinking that though. The fans I'm getting slowly but surely, for my exhaust can I just put a fan in backwards?

yea those will work on 12v... the question about flipping the fan ... i think you know the answer to that!
nobody else is helping cuz this is all basic shit, and it gets posted here constantly...i was just bored.so pitched in some..now i have some questions for u

have you been through the grow faq's ?

watched vids on youtube on growing?

looked at any of the stickes at the top of all of the message board topics ?

if you want those 2ft colas you gonna need better lighting

have you been to the website i linked to(HTGsupply) ?

you need to figure out the biggest box you can make .. and go ahead and make it! i started my shit in a small lizzard tank 3 weeks ago and built a entire room as they started to come up .... i have a big unfinished basment .. i decided to take the back corner and make it a box .... it is 8.5'x6x 8' high

have you looked at my grow journal ?

I looked at your grow journal, pretty intense stuff, didn't do anything on youtube just really been my book, checking forums and trying to learn all the new terminology for this hobby of ours.I don't have a basement to d it in so my cabinet has to be perfect decided that I might make it 4ft2in tall but before you go on Thanks for everything

remember 4 ft tall - height of your pots - space required space for lights = weed growing room
my 8' ceiling
i have plants on a 2.5ft table
pots are just under 1'
light needs 1'
right now that leave me about 4 ft of plant height and when they get any taller i gotta take a fucking router to my table and cut out the middle and drop it down at least a foot ... i think ill be happy with my space then ;)

Always spray your grow area with HOMEGUARD or a good pesticide FIRST, before you do anything. Spray the baseboards, the corners, the floor. Spider Mites easily find a damp place, and will find your crop and ruin it.

Is this Homeguard available at any big store(k-mart, home depot stuff like that)or do you have to order that online

STRETCHING is forcing a plant to do vertical (Upward) growth by having the lights to far away.
With CFLs, you can place them two inches close to the plants. At 2 and 4 weeks in Hydro, or 3 and 5 weeks in soil, you raise the lights 18 inches away and the plants will STRETCH to reach the lights.

Hi everyone,
Thank goodness there is the internet!!. I'm the new kid on the block. My personal relationship with my pastime became a marriage when I picked up "THE BEST OF HIGH TIMES BEGINNER'S GUIDE" at my job of all places and really got this feeling to take it a notch higher with getting high. I recently decided to build my own growbox but I'm a little overwhelmed to keep it real. I did some websurfing and came up with my some info and scrapped this list of items that should get me started

Potting mix with fertilizer

4 5gallon buckets

2 ez clamp lights(the ones with the reflector behind it)

2 150 watt phillips plant lights

I can't find mylar right now so I'm going with aluminum foil pan lids( they seem harder than conventional aluminum foil sheets)

1 can of white paint

2 pieces of 2ft 2in by 2ft 2in medium grade fiber board for the base and lid

4 pieces of 3ft 2in by 2ft 2in m.d.f. for the sides

thats it for right now if any one knows what else I need I'd be very grateful. I'd also like to know how do i install a fan in my box and what would you suggest. I know its alot but I really would like to pursue this its taken an almost artistic hold on me. The whole planting, hard work, highs and lows and eventual 2ft cola I would hope to grow has me excited. Thank you all for your time.
for a cheep fan to get you started check out GROWFAQ lots of good info in there check out the whole thing.

Lowes, Walmart and Home and Home Depot has HOMEGUARD.
I've never heard of homeguard, but like most cleaners I bet it's probably toxic and expensive. Use hydrogen peroxide. :) Its perfect for cleaning a grow area and all your gardening tools. Its effective and cheap as hell, and environmentally safe.
You can also add it to the water you water your plants with. 1-2 Tblsp per gal. It adds extra oxygen to the soil. Its good for the roots. Its good for the "friendly" microorganisms and bad for the "evil" microbes.
And READ THE GROWFAQ!!!! This will help you the most!
Happy growing!:weed:
Ahh here it is>
"Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful oxidizer that can be used to destroy fungi, molds, bacteria and other infectious agents as well as some pollutants. Adding it to your water helps plants by destroying infectious agents and by adding oxygen to the roots' environment.

Hydrogen peroxide is an essential ingredient in maintaining a clean growing room. It replaces chlorine bleach, which is antiseptic but harmful to breathe. When added to reservoirs, hydrogen peroxide slows the growth of algae and other water organisms so that trays and utensils need to be cleaned less frequently. Soil and water borne diseases such as pythium and other stem and root rots occur at much lower rates in hydrogen peroxide-enriched water. Hydrogen peroxide works because of the oxidative reaction, so micro-organisms are unlikely to develop a tolerance. "

Discussing something you never heard of???? Hmmmm.
You must of been stoned and jumped into the middle of the thread without reading the beginning, we were discussing PESTICIDES and preventing spider mites.
Peroxide is not a pesticide that will help with spider mites.
And I use vinegar to clean my system.
