Any advice for my grow room?

I currently am on my 3rd grow and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I can add or that would help with my growroom? I have a 10ft x 5ft x 8ft room with 2 1000 watt hps lights in my flower room. (I think i need another 1000 watt light maybe) For my co2 use I am currently using a co2 boost bucket. I have a tank and a regulator but am waiting until I can afford a controller, 2 circulating fans, a 8in 800cfm can fan going to my can fan charcoal filter, and a ac unit in the wall.
My veg room is a 4x4 box with a 250 watt hps light and ballast combo. Any advice on how to do things better, more efficient, or easier i would appreciate it! Thanks for looking and any advice or comments you leave.

i'll try and post some pics.IMG_0983.jpgIMG_0976.jpg

Hey Mosive

Couple of questions:

"I have a 10ft x 5ft x 8ft room with 2 1000 watt hps lights in my flower room. (I think i need another 1000 watt light maybe)"

Is the room divided up into the sections that we see?
What are the demensions of those enclosures?
What is the material? All mylar? Some clear plastic?
How far are the lights from the plants?
How many plants do you flower?
How many square feet per plant?
What strains?
How tall do they get?
How many gallons are your pots for flower?
Do you train the stems?

10' x 5' = 50 square feet @ 50 watts per square foot = 2500 watts for a stationary

A 1000 watt HPS with a good reflector leaves a good 4' x 5' light footprint, your room will be hard to cover if it's not partitioned.

A better option would be a light mover. There's one on page one of the grow lab thread linked below.

I've alway's gotten stretchy plants - long internode legnth - in veg with HPS because of the red spectrum. If you are having this problem consider MH, CFL or even LED is OK for veg.

The cumulative extra internode length makes lower buds further from the light than they have to be - the inverse square law reduces the amount of light that can reach these buds. It's like flowering with a weaker light than you have.

Check out my Grow Lab thread, page 1, for stem training ideas to turn all the branches into colas.

First off thank you for your reply! I will try my best to answer all of your questions to give you a better feel.
Those are actually 2 separate rooms.
The flower room is 10Lx5Wx8H and the veg is 4x4x4
The flower is sheetrock over 2x4 and the walls are totally covered with mylar.
The veg is plywood not really insulated and the walls are painted white with some leftover mylar on the walls.
In my flower room the lights are about 12-14 inches above my plants. The veg is about 18in above. I raised all my lights in order to get some decent pics.
I flower around 40-50 staggered 4 weeks in my flower room. 20-25 in then 20-25 4 weeks later.
I don't know the square feet per plant. Sorry.
The strains are The Black and Cherry Ak-47.
They go in about 12-14 in tall and around harvest they are usually 28-36in.
My pots for flower are 4 gallon.
I do not train the stems. I usually top them and take a cutting off of each one before going into the flower room. I will definitely check out your grow lab thread for some techniques.
I don't usually have a real long internode length but i have been considering changing to a MH at a higher wattage though for good measure though.
Thanks again for your time and reply!
