ANTS IN SOIL!

Hey guys I have my girl in a 10 gallon fabric grow bag with Fox farm dirt And I was watering her last night and but millions of ants came running out of her root system. The plant doesn't look on healthy in any way But I just noticed it and I keep pretty close eye on them Are they good are they badd will they leave I need somebody's brains thanks!

Yes that earth stuff. No actually it's totally fine for your plant. Loaded with silica as well so it will help strengthen your plant. Many benefits to DE

You can add it to water and spray your plants with it. It should have directions. You will have to keep applying to the top of soil if it gets wet. I would water so the ants come out and then put a thick layer on soil so it cuts them up.

OK yeah because it's like as soon as I poor accorder gallon of water on her and the ants are just pouring out of her main root system They're not attacking the plant at all They're just in the dirt . I was thinking about taking my plan out of the pot antoli washing the roots off but I'm scared that that my shock or set back my plant a lot. But ill go with the DE

Wear a mask and eye protection when working with DE.

Check the underside of your leaves for aphids. A lot of times ants and aphids go hand in hand, the ants use them for sugar.

My bag of DE says ineffective after being wet.... You can spray the stuff?

More for a foliar feeding. People spray it to get the silica from it.

I have found that washing the plant down and then applying it helps DE stick. Then when you re-apply it sticks easter to the previous application.

Fuck DE for this. Mix borax with sugar and leave it where they can get it. They take it home, everyone eats it and then everyone explodes. Buy Borax at the grocery store.

Borax and boric acid do work well, but I've never had it successfully eliminate a colony, only knock them down for awhile.

DE is area denial, Borax is chemical warfare. Not to imply Borax is super toxic, because it isn't.

Exactly. They're inside now. I love DE and have used it since the 70's. But I know its limitations.

Read about using orange oil in solution. Drench with it. It's a neurotoxin for insects. I cannot find a single source advising against it in cannabis
