Hello guys, like many of you , I can wait anymore for summer 2010. My country is located on the Balkan Peninsula. Yestarday, I scouted some spots for my future plants. And actually,I find nice ones. Unfortunately I see many holes, I think that these holes are snake's nests. I saw silver еggs into these holes. I don't have any fears.... only one it's snakes :? How can I prevent this pest. Soon i will dig the spot. I am really scared. Every peace of advice will be quite helpful for myself. Thanks in advance.

I doubt they are snake eggs. Snakes hide their eggs better, and more than half of snakes dont even lay eggs and are live birth. Your dealing with a bird.

Also, if this was a snake, it would be near its egg at all times(you probably would have encountered it). Most snakes will stop feeding for however long the eggs take to hatch just to watch them. Definatly dont stick your hand in a hole with eggs unless your a pro with animals. Leave that shit alone bro its nature, Your gonna come set up shop for some weed and take its home? Learn to live with it or move to another spot :)

I don't know; do they look like this?
nope, they definitely are smaller than these on the picture. next time, when i am going to my spot i will make some photos of the holes, then ill upload some pics.
Now, I typed the sentence "snake's eggs" into Google ,and i understand that many of snake's eggs are white. Interesting, the eggs that i have seen are silver. may be they are mole cricket's eggs i don't know :P

They definatly would be good to have in the area for critters that would enjoy your plant. The snake would enjoy them.

hahaha you are absolutely right, local people are quite afraid to go there in the summer. Therefore I choose this spot , but unfortunately i am afraid too :D
LMAO, I am too, but as someone here stated, they are more afraid of you than you are of them. the spot sounds like "THE SPOT", I still say go for it!:bigjoint:

get a machete and go on the attack. 410ga shot works good and isnt to loud if you are way out in the bush. scrap that guns and going to your grow isnt good idea. machete will make you feel better. also most snakes are not around at night unless tropical zones. what kind of snakes? dont even worry they will here you and make haste outa there. sorry im just posting out of bordom. be safe peace.

Most snakes are around at night, in fact almost 85% of snakes are active during nightime. Dont give him bad information. If your going to get bit by a snake, it would most likely be at night time when hes out and about(and you step on him).

rodents will mess with your plants. gophers eat the roots, rabbits eat the leaves, mice do who knows what.

snakes eat rodents and do NOT harm plants in any way. they are beneficial.

why would you kill them?

kronic dont know where you live but snakes my way are out in the day. the only thing poisinous around are rattlesnakes and they are out during the day they like to sun themselves. in fact most snakes in colder regions are not out during night. my post said if your in tropical zones thats where snakes are out at night mostly. in fact ive seen hundreds of snakes, never one at night. and im out on the prowl at night. no bad info here, maybe in the galapagos where you pretend to live there are snakes out at night. but none where i live. north america. i realize this guy is not from north america but i also know he has no reason to worry.
