Its says they aren't necessarily clone only STRAINS.....but clone only PHENOS of that strain. Anyways.....I took a second look at the jillybean, it actually sounds pretty good. "Extremely up beat and happy buzz great for depression and bad days"

I've got 3 each of Jillybean, Jack The Ripper and Pandora's Box vegging now (all TGA (Subcool) strains - Pandora's box will have a euphoric laughing effect but I'm not sure on anxiety. JTR has anxiety listed as a possible effect.

But I'd say Jillybean would be great.

Two others to look at are Bubblegum and Kali Mist by serious seeds, both deal with anxiety in their own way. Kali Mist is very dreamy, nothing is wrong - while - Bubblegum is euphoric and up, everything is great.

Kali Mist takes 14 weeks to flower, long time. Bubblegum is 9 weeks and everything about the plant is fantastic. Very clear high.

Weird how jilly is mostly sativa dominant but helps anxiety
I only thought indica Dom. Helped anxiety worries

Reeferman’s line can be found at Hemp Depot but I did not see Romulan in the line, though I know at least in the past he did offer Romulan.

If I were looking for Romulan I would most likely pick Next Generation Seed Company’s Romulan if I were able to locate it at a seedbank that I knew to be reputable.

That is not a knock against Reeferman in any way, he is a true top breeder. But I do know from friends and from reading and following threads that the Next Generation Seed Company's Romulan is quality gear.

years ago, being a sativa smoker with undiagnosed depression/anxiety issues, i just didn't understand how i could feel like shit at times, and great at others
partly blamed it on the weed, would stop for a while but symptoms would not really change
years later, finally dawned on me, some sativa's really helped, and some made things worse

It's interesting the different effects strains have - indicas can be stimulating and sativas can be sedative. Most of the time not, but I find the effects fascinating.

Bubblegum - Serious Seeds

I've got extreme tolerance build up so my review of the potency will be out of kilter with reality. I have a friend who stops in a couple times a year when he goes by my town, he and his evil twin brother got me smoking bud 10 years ago and he smokes regularly and considers himself a pot head.

Last time he was up I had some Dr Greenthumb Big Laughing - which is great but I don't find it as potent as Serious Bubblegum - and we shared a Volcano bag. I usually have a bag every hour or so and hardly notice any effects. My buddy couldn't finish 1/3 a bag and had to stare at the wall for 15 minutes before he was functional enough to focus on the TV.

So, by comparison I can say that Bubblegum has a fairly good hit and it gives me a mild but beautiful floaty high. Good mood elevator.

Serious Bubblegum is an excellent strain, to grow and vaporize. Love it. If ordering remember that Serious is the sativa pheno and TH is the indica which would give a more sedative stone than energizing high. Another option would be Bogbubble or one of BOG's amazing crosses like Sour Bubble.

.

Spectrum of Experience

1. Onset: fast effect or creeper.
creeper 1 2 3 4 5 fast

3 to 3.5 - I start to feel it fast, sometimes a lightness in the head while holding the inhale. Most of the effects start within a couple of minutes and build. It takes me 15 minutes to go through a Volcano bag.

2. Up (stimulating) and Down (sedative)

Up.

- Liven the disposition and stimulate the emotions:

Mood elevator. A lightness of being. Great for hiking the beach/woods with an I-inhale or just sitting alone.

Inspiring sociability and talkativeness:

I'm usually very solitary and Bubblegum makes people tolerable to be around and still leaves me sharp enough to make fun of them and deliver some cutting insults.

Sedative and depressant effects:

None that I notice, even on the come down which is mild.

3. Head High / Body Stone
Energizing -
yes
Motivating -
yes
Couch lock -
no

Bubblegum releases you to do the things you want, but doesn't drive you to do them with uncontrollable urges.

4. Emotional State Caused

Anxiety -
no
Euphoria -
yes, but controllable euphoria.
Calm -
yes
paranoia -
no

5. Body - medicinal effects

Nausea -
mild help
Pain -
not known
Seizures -
not known
Back -
not known

6. Head - medicinal effects
Depression -
very good helping depression while leaving functional
Mania -
have not had the pleasure of finding out. Yet.
Anxiety -
good
Antisocial -
makes people tolerable for short periods
Anger -
fucken right I get angry but the Bubblegum doesn't help me get angrier!

7. Ceiling:
How high (of far) one is capable of going with the variety. How many hits can be consumed until more hits are unnoticeable.

I'm noticing a ceiling but I'll check with my buddy next time he's up. If I can get him to keep hitting the Volcano.

8. Potency: weak 1 2 3 4 5 strong

More potent than Big Laughing, not as potent as Kali Mist. 3.5

9. Duration
short 1 2 3 4 5 long

Maybe an hour.

10. Tolerance:
ability to provide the same experience via the same amount over time – the burnout factor. "Over time" means the long run: months, years, decades...

Not known.

11. Taste

Bazoka Joe, sports card gum, that pink gum that comes like a Tootsie roll. The lightest hint of icing sugar, pink gum sweetness.

"but ya want to harvest with more amber trichs for less anxiety right"

Not necessarily but probably. More amber trichs will make the effects more sedative, and I imagine change other effects but we don't hear about much other than stimulating/sedative.

from my experience most weed chills anxiety unless it was harvested too early or late or is pure sativa, but I'm blazing some strawberry cough which I saw mentioned and it indeed is very relaxing.
my anxiety has surely diminished since harvest.

It looks like a knock off Newb, something with similiar taste effect and appearance but not the same genetics. Probably a Romulan clone cross.

They list as: Genetics: Columbian, Korean

Look down the list:

ps Referman had a Romulan, if I find a link I'll post it in this thread.

Romulan is from Korea. Some dudes brought back seeds from the war. But they now have romulan max....which sounds like the original just bigger yields

Thanks BrickTop. You know if Green Life ships to the US?

http://www.greenlifeseeds.com/index.php/Next-Generation-Seed-Co./Romulan

I have no idea. I could only advise that you read all their information about shipping/delivery and if you cannot find what you need there shoot them an email.

Myself if the stain or strains I wanted could be found at Attitude Seeds that would be my first choice followed by Hemp Depot and Hemcy and Legends and PeakSeedsBC and World-Wide Marijuana Seeds (The Single Seed Center). (That was in random order after Attitude)

All are reputable quality seedbanks to do business with. Some have better pricing than others but some also offer breeder lines that others do not.

Romulan Maxx – Next Generation Seed Company

Location:
indoor, outdoor; Type: mostly indica; Flowering: ~56 days; No feminized seeds.

Known Phenotypes: » new » none up to now (homogenous??)

After years of working with the Romulan strain we are proud to present the Next Generation of Romulan. More size, better appearance, same great knock-out stone. This Romulan is faster growing and larger structured than its original predecessor. Grows great in a Canadian greenhouse. Nice dense buds indoors or outdoors.

Indoors: 8 weeks
Outdoors: October 5-10 (BC)

Romulan – Next Generation Seed Company

Known Phenotypes: » new » none up to now (homogenous??)

The Romulan is a legend, a medical and personal favorite to many. This BC original has increased in size and vigor.

The Romulan is a squat growing strain known for its overwhelming narcotic stone. It has large dark green leaves, purple stock and leaf stem with frosty buds that are hard and dense. Strong piney smell, a must have for the connoisseurs head stash, pure breeding genetics. Recommended medical strain.

As seen in Skunk, Cannabis Culture and High Times magazines.

Indoors: 8 weeks
Outdoors: Mid to late October

The Romulan is a legend in BC and the Pacific North-West. It was originally breed and grown in the Victoria, BC area. Now it is a favorite for medical clubs all over North America. There are qualities of this strain that are sedative and very helpful with patients that have pain from nerve and muscle damage, also useful in treating seizieres. The quality of the buds are second to none and its our #1 recommended strain for medicinal users.

The Romulan by Next Generation Seed Company is made with the original `Romulan Joe` Romulan cutting. They have kept it alive since recieving it from Joe almost 10 years ago. The male is an 8th generation Backcross that was selected from a large seed run(500 seeds).

At this time most of the Romulan crosses are with this strong male, the flavour and potency of the Romulan is very dominant in its crosses. However, the growing structure tends to follow that of the female parent making for more potent better producing hybrids.

There are plans on producing more crosses with the original Romulan cutting very soon. Romulan has beautiful colors in cooler temperatures.

On avereage the Romulan seedlings don`t like to be overwatered. Large PH fluctuations also disrupt growth of Romulan more than with others. However the potency of this strain make it a keeper. Romulans already strong scent and wonderful aroma is drastically increased by slow drying and properly curing.

During the last large seed run, another special seedling stood out from the rest. It was faster flowering than all the others by a week and was about 30% bigger.

We kept a copy of this special Romulan Seedling and it is now the mother of the `Romulan Max`. Its production level is the same as top producers like NL#5 and Hashplant. It may not be as strong as the original Romulan but at least its still stronger than most other strains around.

History

Roumours and guesses on the parentage of Romulan abound. Claims that the Romulan is a pure Indica (Afgani/Kush) are mistaken. While there may be some genetics from Indica (Afgani) varieties, anyone who has tryed the Romulan knows that the mind warping effect is that of plant with strong sativa traits. `Romulan Joe` and

I have had many conversations on the origin of this strain. According to him the original breeders started growing in there backyard and greenhouse in the 50`s, after being introduced to cannabis in the Korean war and bringing home seeds to Victoria. They struggled to grow and acclimatise these seeds selecting the faster flowering shorter plants from the tall lanky Korean strain.

When the late sixties, early seventies rolled around they began trying Columbian and Mexician seeds and hybredized varieties from these. In the mid 80`s when the Afgani strains sweept into North America they breifly tried hybredizing with these but eventually when back to selecting the traits they liked in there old genetics.

They worked mainly with Sativa genetics but always selected shorter squatter phenotypes which has made many people think that it is purely Indica strain. But whatever its true geniology is, I`m sure we can all agree on its great taste and high.

Over the last few years NGSC has grown several seed varieties from Columbia and has reported on one the was remarkably simular in flavour and affect as the romulan, but grows tall like a sativa. It was a Columbian Red variety that is now the basis for the new seeds A.D.D. from thier Gold Seal Collection, very heady strain. This has brought more circumstantial evidence that leads us to believe that the Romulan has a strong Columbian influence.

Oh man BrickTop....I wish you didn't type all of that, lol. Hope you copy pasted. I got all that info in my high times ganja guide, lol. But nevertheless, you are always knowledgeable and i'm sure that will clear the speculations around it.
