Another watering question...

As BenGman told you you always water with nutrients. This isn't as complex as you're trying to make it.

If you want to set up a complex water water ca/mg water water nutrient several times a day you can do anything you want. If your plants show deficits or toxicity just change it around. But I'm far too lazy. If my plants need watered they get it from my mixed res with the nutrients they get every day.

The only exception is once every couple weeks I'm too hot, lazy or doing something else so I water my plants with tap water only (mine is around 250 PPM) this is flushing in hydro so I leach out any excess salts that might be left in my medium. Then I grumble and mix another reservoir.
I'm really not making it complexed at all. I asked a simple question, I never even said was gonna do it. I was just seeing if something like that would fuck your plants up shocking them or anything. Like I said I water them once a day and that's it. This is my first grow so I don't have a rez, or auto water setup. I will next grow. They seem a bit dry by the time it's time to water, but not completely so I suppose they're fine. I'm actually gonna go get the stuff to do what pj suggested, just because as long as I've hand watered this grow, I'm definitely getting sick of it. I will have that auto watering my plants prob by Monday.

You really are making it complex but on your first grow I understand. I hope it all works out for you and that your autowatering set up helps ease the burden.

Watering by hand was a burden for me also when I first started, specially if you got afew plants to feed...till I bought a plastic beer fermenter 30lt and connected a black hose ..would feed 10 plants+ no problem..there are afew reasons why you shouldn't water with plain water in Coco, I just couldn't be bothered explaining it all so my bad and for hyping you up.

With 10lt hempy buckets I'd sometimes only water once every 2 days, depending when they started to wilt..then I'd know how often I'll need to water and go from there .regardless of what people say, it had no bad effects for me.. and the plants are always happy.
