I have followed for period of around a year and a half the idea of bud washing, thought it purposeful,a healthy idea, and from what I have read uneventful and worth the time to produce a product, "bright, clean, smooth burning". Candidly I find myself behind the eightball on this, and would like to share what I would consider obeservations, and HOPE for some input from others, maybe even an acknowlegement of what I have observed. I would have probably never tried to bud wash if not for a clone given to me by a friend and had to fight PM for a series of grows- once that crap is around, bleach water, mold killer, repainting the walls, wiping everything down, anything short of a nuclear blast wont get rid of it- thinning down the number of plants, adding more air circulation, defolate plants, ect ect ect, it will pop up given the change. BTW this isnt my first rodeo- no I didnt buy a light on ebay or amazon and some nutes and think I was now Canopy Growth INC. I have tried bud washing 4times, and probably this last time will be the last time. Oh it sounds great fresh bud- just like apples- never eat till you wash- the idea is novel, and in reality a great idea........UNLESS you MUST have bag appeal- and in that case,it is a total failure. I guess I would like comment from people who have done this as to their results- Im not looking for "makes it a smoother smoke- or the color is much brighter, or I wouldnt smoke unless it was washed, Im looking for main "selling" points, NOT THAT WE SELL- BUT thats the only criteria that really matters- or atleast thats what I think.
I find that after the 3 tub wash -1:Hydrogen Peroxide 2:lemon and baking soda 3:clear wash , my bud has an amazing smell- bright and so sweet, from handling the colas I find my hands are sticky smell like a wonderous flowing plant,I also find the color of the herb goes from a darker coloration to a brighter "skunk" coloration, BUT what I find I cant live with is the BUD becomes LIGHT and AIRY...Did I say LIGHT and AIRY??? Yeah Light and Airy, it also dries out faster than Ice cube on an arizona sidewalk in the middle of summer, in each case of bud washing- the tight bud ( hey not bragging just the facts maam as Sgt Friday used to say) the last plants I washed had main bud the size BIGGER by far than the diameter of coke can, and longer than most corn on the cob- no brag- just fact, but ended up LIGHT and AIRY.Never had this problem before,I guess I just wanted to see what others thought of washing bud- I was hoping to post on Doc Brix post on bud washing- but that one was closed...anybody else have this problem??

What does a better “ skunk “ coloration mean ?

Clone didn’t give you PM … your grow environment
did. Plus you never mentioned “ full clean after “ grows. Which sounds like it was still affecting your efforts.

It is a simple dunk and twist method … to remove certain “ debris and contamination “ from harvested flowers. Cat hair , bugs , dirt , some foliar residue , etc…… it works when needed in those circumstances. I have done it before and never had bud density change to “ airy “. I shake excess off and hang dry a bit before going into drying area. I even did a soak with cut buds in a basket strainer - dunk and remove. Laid them out awhile , then mesh dry.

Biggest reason i even did it was because of wife cats …… longhair fuckers. Cats finally got tossed to her sister. I would run tents open and well that was why.
Buds do look more crystally upfront but look at the waste water….. sometimes it is pretty shocking. Some triches do get stripped but seems negligible at end.

Skunk coloration- brighter green-lighter green, grow enviorment- clean, and after the chop lights pulled out solution of bleach water used to clean and if the walls were worse for wear a new coat of paint, pretty much "clean" like top to bottom- I wouldnt say level 3 hazmat- but gone through really good...My understanding that PM spores can winterover- so clean...yeah Id say so.

I have a dog inside and bud washing changed my whole thought process. when i smoked my first outdoor crop, i did indeed find dog hair but honestly who lets their animal in their grow tent/ space? i washed and pretty much threw up. I mustered the courage to do my outdoor stuff and i literally threw up then. that water eventually went brown 3times as i swapped fresh water/Ingredients and i had enough silt/dirt/debris to fill half a 5 gallon bucket (6plants). its mad helpful outdoors for sure

I water cured some of my 1st plant. Lots of stuff in the water for a few changes. It was just ok tasting imo. Did get you just as high as the regular stuff though.

Get some "BANISH Fungicide".....,actually kills the "hook" that PM sinks into mycelium. It's a geranium oil extract.........sprayed young plants twice......gone, no problems.

this damn dog i didn't ask for but i love to death :| that shit was a wake up call for me. my buds have a much more aesthetically pleasing eye and interesting coloration but doesn't touch anything most of you guy are growing naturally. i do have to say the baking soda does deodorized the shit out of that bud and i didn't get any smell unti i cured for almost a month after
