when using subcools super soil do you fill the whole pot with the super soil....or do you fill the bottom half and top it off with say promix?

You do the bottom half or third depending on your plants needs. Also, I hate to do this but I'm obligated: L2R

So I would say no pro mix isnt good for base in ss. You need something with more to it. If you use pro mix plan on feeding them at some point bc they will more then likely run out of gas.

If you read through that thread you should have no worries. If you still need help go to his yt account and look for supersoil.mov.

lowes will be my only choice of getting good soil i live in the states does lowes sell a good base soil? if so what brand?

Get some roots organic. Even if you have to order it (ordering soil is expensive) it will pay off for you in the end. I started in roots organic and for veg, all I needed to do was add water. No nutes, no ph adjusting, just set the water out for RO and pour it in the next day. I just switched to flower and my girls love it. I did 1/3 of the pot supersoil, and then I made a small buffer layer where I mixed the roots organic and supersoil, with another small layer of pure roots organic on the top. I then transplanted my plant on top of that and filled the sides with just roots organic. I've continued to use only RO water and she hasn't showed any deficiencies that I can tell.
