This isn't my first time posting some grows but none of my other grows have had the envioronment tuned in so well.

I have a few pictures from the first couple of weeks where I wasn't sure if i would be actually doing a journal.

so I'll show those first.

This is the begining, just a couple of rubbermaids and, wal-mart air pumps.
Waiting for the seeds to get big enough to thow in there.

2.

I did a little work on the door. It used to be a solid door but I took it out and replaced it with this hollow door. It needed to be ripped the long way so the door would fit a closet. I ripped out all the corrogated material inside, vacumed and then made small chambers inside using "GREAT STUFF"

This is the bucket and pump I use to pump out as much of the nutes As I can for res changes.

This is the fan controler. It turns off at 70 F, and on at 80 F. I'm not entirly sure thats how its supposed to work but it does.

And of course its pulling the air thru my brand new 600w HPS

"I need to give a +REP to www.kggardensupply.com I went in for a light system and wanted to get the 600W. The bulb was going to put me just over budget it was $89 all on its own, 5 dollars more than I had in my pocket. I tell him Ill have to settle with the 400w.

He stands there for a second thinking to himself. The diffrence is night and day let me see what I can do. Ill give you the bulb for 29. I have a good feeling you'll be back.

He's my hero.

You can see Im using Holland Secret nutes.

Swamp effect

My Self above holds all the necessitys

Themometer with Humidiy. keeps the highs and lows. I reset it every morning.

They didn't look so good after the last res change so I decided to give them a flush. If you look at the leaves they have some spotting. The dryer ones I pruned off with an alchohol cleaned pair of scissors. This is 24 hours later.

cut a new intake for the door. its pulling air directly from the outside until its warm enough for a window unit or I have the money for a portable.

you can see the intake better here coming over the ballast.

Right now the pull is two 12v brushless pc fans running at 5v. It pulls it enough but I know I can get another power supply for 12v once the temps start to rise.

I don't know what is going on here. Any thoughts would be nice. but i treated it with a h202 bath and a little trimming.
I believe this is an effect of using jiffy peat pellets in the net cups instead of rockwool or other medium.
I tried to rectify this by pouring a gallon each over each cup with a 10ml h202/1g h20 mix.

Not a big typer ayy. Are you refering to the slime on the roots? I would say thats algae growing. Its slimy and greenish collored. Also jiffy pellets would probably not cause that problem, Give some more detail please. When did you last change your water and mix? Details?

Also h2o2 or hydrogen peroxide is NOT good for your root zone. Id be real careful using it. It can cause root burn/rot

the fan blades are all broke in this fan so I decided a theromostat would be a great addition to my grow room.

so it may only control in 5 degree incriments but it works.

I always change my res once a week. At the notice of the root problem I changed again and scrubed the whole system with a H2O2 solution.

H2O2 has never giving me problems except for when I failed to rinse the roots properly.
I have seen a significant amount of instant fix with H2O2. Its like duck tape for plants. Especially with a soil grow that has root problems. The trick is to never let it stay on the roots for too long and to only add about 10 - 20 ml/g of H2O2 to your res.

I also think that high res temps took a toll.
I have since made a number of updates to the vent system.

As for the typing I often times dont have much time to do everything in one day so as they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

This is the main board of the fan. I had a good time trying to figure out the motors. The originals had four leads each, I'm still not quite sure for what if it was for two speeds and the capacitors(those little green boxes). At some point I will be putting those directional switches onto my setup and replace the fans with plugs so the fans can easily be removed or switched.

Im begining to have problems with my temps they are getting into the 80's. I added some supplemental CO2 by adding 6 cups of sugar 6 cups of warm water and 3 packets of yeast together in a gallon jug. I put some airline tubing in the cap and sealed the other end. The tube has a bunch of holes like a soaker hose now and its coiled around the base of the plants.

I was wondering too if anyone knew of a way to set up a 5000 btu window ac into a diy portable with exhaust. It's a bit unusual to have an ac set up in a window when its 40 degrees outside.

I see your point with the h2o2 but what caused the problem? Sorry not trying to be a smart ass just curious?

High Res temps the temp just started rising here. I was using the closet as a heater for the bedroom in the winter pretty much. Once its hot enough I'll get the ac in the window.

I had to do an unforseen move but its for the better. i can cut holes in this closet right into the attic space. the temps stay well below 80 at all times I cant wait to see how it does with the summer heat.
I may be making a better light trap for a fresh intake from the bedroom.
