Another herm

Had another plant herm on me. This is happening right around 4 weeks into flower. Keep a lookout for the yellow sacks flowing on the lower part of the bud and in my limited experience they seem to form on the middle of the plant height on secondary buds. My first thought is just to remove the buds that have them- until I realized it is a loosing battle- the entire plant needs to be trashed.
They do stand out because of the light color but you need to pay attention to the plants daily to catch them in time before they release pollen and ruin everything.

It's one of the reasons I like cloning as opposed to seed grown. You find a plant that is 100% female, then you clone it.

One curiousity I found with a Green Crack plant that hermed on me, it did not pollinate the other Green Crack (I bloom 2 plants at a time in a tent), it only pollinated itself. I don't know if that was unusual or not. I've always read that herms can pollinate other plants, but it didn't happen in that one case.

Environment or Gentics --- The environment the plant grows in is the number 1 cause that will stress it out and it will herm at a last ditch effort to survive and reproduce it self
  • Light leaks
  • Inconsistent light cycles
  • Being too close or too far from a light
  • Unfavorable temperatures
  • Temperature fluctuations
  • Inconsistent humidity levels
  • Pest or disease pressure
  • Becoming rootbound
  • Over-pruning
I have had clones herm???

What strain from who? What are you growing in as far as room or tent, what medium? I'd like to know the genetics Then we can probably quickly narrow it down to your skills or not and find the root problem.

This is bag seed from high quality medical cannabis- i am growing in a room with a 4 x 10 area tarped off with mylar reflectors added all around. Using coco and perlite around 25% in 2 gallon fabric pots- on racks with drain pans underneath. I am going to use 3 gallon fabric pots for the next grow. My guess would be root bound even though the plants seem happy. I have seen medical operations that used a 1 gallon coco block and main stems are around 1 1/2 inches.
These plants were held in veg probably too long- i am in a State that only allows 3 mature and 3 unmature at a time and I made the mistake of starting 6 at once so I had to delay flowering on 3 plants and I kept them in veg an extra 9 weeks or so.

I’ve been havin herm issues lately too, finally said fuck it and bought some optic foliar switch, got some kinda plant hormone blocker in it that prevents herm expression. I know the issue last time was probably just to much light.

If a light leak caused a herm, the genetics were boof from the get go. Only think I’ve ever known a light leak to cause is revegging (possibly) depending on if the leak is consistently occurring
