Another CFL question

Hello all,
Well I am going to make this short. I have a filing cabinet that I am going to be using for my Veg. state; it’s just a standard two drawer. I have (2) 27w Daylight CFLs that produce 1300 Lumens each and (2) 23w Bright white CFLs that produce 1500 Lumens each. Oh they are both swirl and total to 8200 Lumens. I am going to paint the inside of my cabinet white.

-To much light?
-Wrong colors?
-Not enough light?

Thanks for the help... Oh and sorry for regurgitating this question that I am sure that has been asked before. I looked (hardly) and did not find the exact answer.

It's only 3970 lumens but for 1 or 2 plants it will do.

sqrt((=1300^2*2)+(1500^2*2))=3970

A lot of people think you can sum the lumens (So did I until I was shown the formula).

Yeah im just getting this one going so that when I get my main grow box in my new place I can have a plant ready to go. That is it. The place I am living at right now would not work so well with a big grow box. So simple as I just want to get a plant started now.

How does that equation work?

The more smoke sooner the better.

Alright i am going to save you the trouble of someone else saying this. Lumens don't add and that equation is wack 1300 squared is 1690000 and 1500 squared is 2250000s o you requation is 4500000+3380000=7880000 that is ummmmmm crack head math yeah well call it that..... you should be alright just figure out where and how you are going to flower first it is really important

cfls you have to keep very close to the lights so you have to check on them all of the time to make sure they are not burning you can have very very good vegges with cfls and if you are good at it you can get pretty good yields.

So this 1300 squared = 1690000

1690000 x 2 = 3380000

then do 1500 squared = 2250000

2250000 x 2 = 4500000

then do 4500000 + 2250000 = 7880000

then take the square root of 7880000 = 3970

You will like the 400w half way thru my grow I went from 10 cfls to the 400w

alright so i didnt see the square root part but still take a light meter and hold it under any light okay now hold it under two of the same lights alright now what you will see is lumens dont add you will see that you have the same amount of light intensity but more spread out light, i didin't make this up i have seen it and have done it you cant make a light brighter by adding another one it just doesn't work like that
