Another CFL 1st grow/ KC Brains NL Special + Seedsman WW

I'm still watching! Northern Lights Special will be my first grow as well and oh my is your lady looking sweet!

nice to see someone grow more and talk less . kc brains seems like a relaible breeder. the 70 watts hps would help the budds debelop faster and fatter. with the set up you got , a perpetual harvest could be possible... verry nice first grow and with out too much bullshit talk .

couple more bud shots of the NL, day 42 of flower, i have noticed another round of new pistil growth. So im thinking I still have about ten days, which will be another good flush plus a few days to get bone dry for harvest.

Couple pics of the main flower space. They were getting too vert, so i had to switch them into the portable closet and will use the rubbermaid for the first week or two of flower under CFl's. That will cut down on the stretch some. Although now that the WW is filling in i need some stretch.

Took a few extra pics of my first NL2 clone at day 19 of flower trying out different filters on the camera. There is another NL2 clone one week behind that one still in the rubbermaid and 2 NL2 clones that just took root and are in veg under a 26w CFL.

I will buy another cheap little 70w HPS next week and replace that hanging CFL with that. I will clamp that CFL along with another one in the corners of the tent for supplemental blue lighting.

I have the clones and the space now that I will start putting one clone a week into the rubbermaid.

I germed five seeds. 2 of those were way more vigorous than the other 3, they ended up being males. In fact the big fat beauty that i got running right now was the runt of the litter. It took a couple extra days to germ, and the first two weeks were SLOW. But what I found out was that it was putting all its energy into making a healthy root system. Once that was done, it exploded in growth and ended up being a real nice BBW!

did u top before or after u new the sex?mine are at 2 an a half weeks ,just need to kno all the steps before i do anything dumb

well, mine showed sex while still in veg, every one of the NL popped a preflower on the 5th internode. I fimmed the big NL right around the fifth internode, which gave me a total of 12 shoots to LST. IMO, when you top should be determined by how many tops you want to end up with. Once you determine that, then it becomes a function of what internode you want to top at and whether or not you want to fim it or not.

For example, if you want 4 tops, then fully top it at the fourth internode, train the top 4 shoots out to each point on the compass, then use the couple spindly shoots on the bottom internode for clones.

If you want 6 tops, then FIM at the fourth internode, if you want 8+ then FIM the fifth internode adn get ready to tie and retie on a daily basis.

I love it! I'm happy to see really cool starters like that, and for moderate bucks. Way to go! Something I think you might find interesting are the LED growlights. None of the heat problems associated with Sodium Vapor or Halide. I'm in a 3X3' space, so heat's an issue. The LED provides blinding light - sunglasses recommended - and it's easy to see increased growth from day to day - similar to outdoors. And keep the CFL's, unless heat's a problem.

Thanks! I'm keeping an eye on the LED's, I think it would be prudent to give it another year or so to let the technology and price get to a point to where it's justifiable.

Dude... what kind of magic you got going on over there. I don't know where you are, but I am coming over when things are harvested. Man.... I love it.

I'm also with you... I will be very interested in LED lights when the price comes down a bit... or even a lot.

getting to be right at 7 weeks since flowering began, next update will be after the chop.

went ahead and chopped today. I could have went one week longer to get maximum ripeness, but I needed the space and didn't want crispy dead leaves covered in trichs. Which would put it at right at an 8 week pneno. I've got 3 clones behind it and will give them a little more veg nutes through flower to try and avoid the premature yellowing.
