are there any other advantages feminized in your opinions besides being female . the reg are very cheap as low as 1 dollar each and the female are 6 each . well a bit over a dollar but huge savings . also hearing the regular may have better potency better genetics higher quality . I know how to sex plants not an issue . what are your opinions on this subject ? who uses regular and how many out of 10 usually a male . zero experience with regular I find my self in a situation I am not used to being broke !

reg seeds are pretty much 50/50 gender. i have both fem and reg seeds going. I like having a few fems that i know are going to be female and gambling with the a few regs allowing for some males in the batch. my buddies all mono crop and generally get better yields, but i like the variety. it doesnt always work out. i started 3 reg sweet skunks, 1 didnt germ, the others ended up male. i would say the smaller your crop the worse regs are. if you need 2 plants to fill a tent and you pop 4 regs, you could end up with 4 males - no weed or 4 fems and have to destroy 2 due to no space. the higher the number, the more likely of 50/50 in a batch.

Id rather know Im going to have 2 girls and only have to make medium for 2 pots, space for 2 etc. Instead of planting 4 regs in hope to get 2 females, but having to take care of 4 plants, extra soil/veg room space, then to find out you only have one female and youre running your 600 for one plant, or find out all 4 are females and you dont have the room, nor the need for so much

$5 is worth that control

Regulars only, growing feminized seeds only contribute to shrinking gene pool of cannabis. Fem seeds are way more likely to herm, from my experience. I think creating fem seeds as a breeder is a great way to protect your work however fem seeds are not as desirable for the experienced growers. Not to say you cant find killer weed in fem seeds and I have even used some in some home pollen chucks projects but now I am really focusing on keeping virility my gene pool, no more fem seeds.

Finally, for those of you that are worried about wasting space and soil, it is such minimal cost, here is how you do it. You put your seedlings in the flower room in 1 gallon pots in some corners (no need for strong lights here, I keep mine 5+ feet away from lights at times) wait until they show sex, you dont have to have them looking great here you are simply waiting to know their sex. When they get close, look daily, as soon as they show sex top them and place them back in the veg room, you can transplant here if you like into much larger pots. voila, now you can veg your plants as long as you want and you know you are not wasting time on a male. every once in a while you get a special male and you can put in by a window in your house for another 10-14 days after it showed sex and you will be harvesting pollen to make your own house strains. AWESOME.

my situation is a bit different than yours . yeah if its only saving cash and no other advantages but slightly better possible yield not worth it at all . my state allows caregivers a max of 72 plants . no need to go more on that . will get the fem as usual ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................... once again all my posts are related to tomato plants . or I have a learning disability or I am totally full of total shit

i have used both reg and femmed i beleave its bullshit but alot here will fight it i have used regs and femmed and have got more females from regs then what i have femmed i would just go with reg seeds man least if u do get a male u can play with him and maybe cross breed in the long run with the right grow space temps nutes and lights out and on the same time in flower u will get a better chance with just regs and u will save yourself a few bucks next best bet is to force a female clone to seed

imo it should be 50-50, I think as more and more people have feminized seeds in their genetics even just as grand parents or great grand parents it will increase the likelyhood of females in the offspring to the point that over time it will be harder to get males if we keep doing females x females for x amount of years.

Sorry green. It doesnt work like that.
How does it work ?
If u keep breeding without the Y chromosome (I'm talking very long term) eventually that Y chromosome will be less and less present in the genetics. Is it an issue? ?? I personally think it is.

So female plants only have x chromosomes and no matter how many s1 are in its lineage it cant get any more x than it is already 100 percent. As soon as you breed it to a male you will have x x x y. Each seed grabs two of the chromosomes, back to 50/50

Now if you are saying good reg seeds are getting harder to buy because a lot of tge breeders are only selling fems and autos. I agree with that. And that could get worse.

Great way to explain...
But what happens if there are no more males around, you become dependant on indoor growing to create seeds or colloidal silver or buying seeds, not so self sustainable. I chose to build my collection only in reg seeds and support breeders of regular seeds like bodhi and subcool.

No need to be a professional breeder to create great seeds just start with some packs of regular seeds from reputable breeders.

Sure. But there are lots of people for whom fem seeds work better in small spaces or low plant counts. In a free world you could just buy clones of known quality strains. Then you wouldnt need fem seeds at all but that isnt where things are.
