This is my first grow (hydroponic). I used the 1/2 litre Ph perfect 3-part nutrient.. Seemed to work fine but they are finished now.
To replenish, I got 1 litre Ph perfect this time and found that the micro is much more viscous and dark (even after shaking a lot)..
It smells the same as the earlier one but definitely darker and thicker. Mixing the same amount also makes the water much darker.

I'm a bit paranoid to try it on my plants as it may be either expired or duplicate.. what shall I do?

Is it normal for different batches to have different viscosity, or was my first one diluted or is my second one fake/expired?

Here are the measurements for Ph and EC

plain water
Ph 7.6
EC 330

batch 1
Ph about 5.8
EC (don't have reading)

batch 2
Ph about 6.0
EC is about 1800 us

I've tried it on my tomatoes but not sure if I can wait for the results as my reservoir is almost dry

Adding pictures for the same.. Please advise

1. First batch micro in measuring cup

2. First batch micro mixed with water in prescribed ratio (4ml/litre)

3. Second batch micro in measuring cup

Start with the basics. Do you actually shake the bottle before you start measuring and mixing? If you don't shake your nutrients before mixing you're just shooting in the dark.

Edit: saw you mixed the bottle. Probably just different batches. Even more reasons to stay away from AN. They are very inconsistent both in their marketing and production.

They change their formulas and labeling as often as I change my socks. Depending on where you get their products and how old they are you could end up with different formulations in the same bottle with the same label. We just came across this in another thread.

fixed typo :P

Don't have a choice.. too lazy to fix ph manually :D

The two different batches are from different sellers
Do they list the dates on the bottles? Are the ingredients on the labels exactly the same? The color on that makes me think they started adding humic acid to the micro. Might just be a formula change.
