Am I the only one who is bored with ethanol?

So many more worthwhile substances, more efficient, less restrictive...does anybody else feel the same way?

Also, lol'ing at the irony of posting this on a MJ growing forum....

This would be a good thread for politics. The ethanol program is a political failure. But we're in to deep now. Sometimes I think the movie "idiocracy" Is becoming non fiction.
Good point, but depending on how you look at it, the ethanol program has been entirely successful politically...

...and simultaneously screwing up just about every o-ring, gasket, hose and tank in anything gas burning made before 2000.

As a man who is in deep passionate love with my boats, I personally use ethanol free fuel in them and enjoy the lack of maintenance costs.

Wind, solar, biodiesel, hydrogen and tidal energy sources should be used before ethanol for the masses. I went to college to learn Renewable Energy Technologies and ethanol filled 1/2 a semester in the course. From a food to fuel stand point its never going to work long term. People need to eat. But from a moonshine/ethanol personal hobby, it ROCKS!! I built a boka reflux still for class that spits out 91% ABV first run every time. Makes a vodka instead of whisky. So as a fuel supplement I vote no, but for drinking . Never thought I'd learn to make moonshine in college, but that's just what happened.

from a performance stand point E85 is a way better fuel. E85 has an octane rating-or the industry standard known as Research Octane Number approaching 105, a significant jump from your typical 93-octane premium pump gas. The real next step in alcohol based fuels is finding something more suitable than food to turn into fuel. It takes 1 acre to make 330 gallon of ethanol.

I wish I could make gas out of brown slime algae, I would be rich
