Am I on to something here?

Lets say I live in Michigan where we now have the medical marijuana act. Here it is legal to have up to 12 plants and/or 2.5oz on person....and I do admit to not knowing the law exactly.

Anyways, you all must know how difficult it has been here to try to get a card...doctors are tough...the public is ignorant...and to top it off the list of ailments is short and restrictive....all intended IMO to dissuade or otherwise make doing things legit seem like too much of a hassle.

We all know about Cali's more laid back approach...no doubt I could walk right in a clinic TODAY in Cali and get a card...guaranteed. I don't live there and I dont want to commit fraud...could I apply for and receive just a state ID? I think I could and if you know first hand tell me please. Anyways with a state ID I should be able to walk right in with my Michigan drivers license and my cali state ID and my med card and buy medical marijuana....Am I right?

So the point is this; I now take back to Michigan my new medical marijuana card.

Why you ask?

Because according to the michigan.gov website under the FAQ section on the new MMMA (Michigan Medical Marijuana Act), Michigan recognizes all other states medical card programs......did'ja know that?

They do say further down that they cannot guarantee that those states or others would reciprocate Michigans laws....

But think about it...you could literally grow under the radar...incognito in your state! The law from my interpretation says nothing about having to register with the state if you ARE in the program....its clear that the only thing they do is process the application for a card....michigans card!

Why do you ask is this even necessary?

1. You could grow in your state while remaining incognito.

2. Should you get busted and you have told no one....you have helped many growers understand power company tactics....especially those in hick towns.

3. Should you get busted you are perfectly legal...did I mention that?

Sure, if it happens you will now be on the books....but think of it!

A backdoor approach to growing without being on the books...so to speak.

So to re-cap for those that are confused...

Go to a state with laxxxxx laws regarding getting a card (seriously "cough" is listed)...then with that card go to another state that recognizes other states programs/cards.....whola...I think that's it!

I have seen nothing that tells me that I must go tell someone I have a card.....I think I'm right!

Let me know....peace.bongsmilie

I haven't done any research pertaining to other states laws, but I think your plan sounds pretty good... granted I guess I too ran insurance fraud accidentally by moving and getting my insurance in another state so technically you might be commuting fraud, but I like the idea.

I wonder if the only time it wont work for you is when you get pulled over... the cop smells your dirty pipe in your pants and you say, "I have MM!" He checks the Registry for Michy and you are not in there. Other than that if you get hasseled by the "man" when you are out and about and have your paperwork on you it, and the cop can't check the registry then you are probably golden.

But that brings up another point.... when a police officer checks the "Registry" is that a nationwide thing if states, lets use Michigan as an example, say they accept from other MM states??? Sounds, like I gave you more research to do rather than answering your question, haha, sorry

I assure you the intent of that phrase was to say that if you got a card in Oregon for disease x, and you visit Michigan where disease x is not recognized, they won't bust you for possession of your medicine. That's all. It does not create any rights for a non-resident to cultivate or anything else. By the way, from what I know the Michigan law pretty much only applies to people with very serious conditions while in CA you can get a card for foot pain.

research , you have to have an address in cal. along with light bills etc.. that show you as a resident before you can get an ID,is all that worth transporting 2.5 oz?
