From an obvious newb-me..
By looking at the hairs on the buds still being somewhat white I didn't think they could be done but looking at the trichs under my microscope they look like they're pretty much there (almost?). the glands/trichs are for sure milky colored boarding on almost amber.
Whatcha think??? Shouldn't the hairs surrounding the buds look more brownish if they were just about done?(btw, what exactly are the hairs surrounding the buds called?)
I'm finding two of the three plants w/milky trichs and the third is 2-3 weeks behind these girls.

The soil is still pretty damp but I'm thinking I should flush it out with clear water to get the nutes out or wait till the soil dries?

Any thoughts go real appreciated about now!!!
Are my girls in false labor...lol:dunce:

I did cut off a bud from two of the plants that looked just about ready to me and I have them sitting on some foil over a space heater to dry them and give em' a try.:bigjoint:

btw...I have a thread going about these three girls here as well if you want to look at the progression and steps I've taken up to this point.

Thanks so much for all your help so far!!

Trich analysis is usually the most accurate to see when a plant is ready. If you say they are all milky with some turning amber, that is the time. I'd flush now to get the nutes out and havest in another week :D

It comes down to personal taste as much as anything else. I used to grow sativa-dominant strains outdoors and didn't much like the paranoid head buzz that I'd get from harvesting too early. I used to wait until there were plenty of brownish hairs to be seen on the buds before harvest to get more of a stoney couchlock kind of a buzz. Also I preferred to give the plants as much time as possible to put on weight before harvest.

I didn't have knowledge about trich colours at that time so I couldn't tell you how much amber was present. Those plants look a little young to my eyes, but if you want smoke that makes you more high than stoned then maybe they're just right for your taste.

Edit - as Massah suggests maybe start flushing now and harvest in 1 to 2 weeks. Maybe sample a small bud every two days until you're pleased with the buzz then give it the chop?

Im with Bosco they look way young to me. Trichome analysis is the best way to tell. The more translucent trichs are generally the more cerebral the high. The more amber they are, the more couch-lock or body high. But def. chevk out the trichs.

The first few pix look like they have a couple of weeks to go. The others look like they are ready or close if you want an early harvest like Mr Bosco says.

If I think a plant is ready to harvest I cut off a few buds and quick dry them for a test smoke.

Deep down I was thinking the same thing which was why I entitled this thread "Am I being too zealous". I had a feeling I was and after all this time and all the pampering I can wait another couple of weeks.
I also agree that in another week or two the buds should be a bit bigger'n heavier which'd be nice : )
I tried our a cpl of buds yesterday and it sure did the trick but I wasn't totally happy with the head yet plus I think the nutes really need to get washed outta the plant for sure. I flooded the three plants this morning with clean rain water and will do the same thing in another few days and up until I cut em' down.

I've read just about all the tutorials but it's another thing having the real deal right in front of you. the minute I saw those milky trichs my heart started thumpin'...lol.
I'm guessing another week..or even two might do it. I'll keep checking with my microscope every other day or so and cut a bud or two to try starting in another cpl of days after I have some more of those nutes washed out.

Really appreciate all the replies!!!
Thanks much my brothers (sistas too if any of you are ^^ : )
