Aluminum Foil Reflectors

Hey,

I just put aluminum foil on the ceiling of my grow box. Is this going to make a big difference? A lot of my lights are coming from the side and up so I am hoping it will now bounce off the foil instead of getting lost.

What do you think?

Thanks as always

Just watch for hot spots and you will be fine. I bought some mylar for realy cheap off of ebay and I have had zero probs.

Foil works good if you're on a budget... you could also try using flat white paint if you feel like it, but mylar seems to be a favorite among growers.. i just use white paint in my grow room/closet reflects good and is easy to clean... when you clean aluminum foil it dents up and creates more hot spots

I used to use aluminum foil, never had a problem with it...

but I found using this Shiny Wrapping Paper I got at Dollar General worked so much better. Its only $1 and should be plenty. It comes in sheets, 6 sheets per package. I am pretty sure that stuff is mylar.

The wrapping paper is also A LOT easier to keep flat.

use foil DULL side out to eliminate hot spots. this creates a diffused reflection rather than pinpointing light

Foil creates hot spots, buy some flat white paint.. same cost and no hotspots. or spend 17 bucks and get 25 feet of mylar, dont waste your time with foil
