Alternating Node's

Are alternating node's a plant's way of telling you its mature. I just noticed my node's are alternating and a little thing is growing right above the calyx with a white hair coming from it so I guess it's a pre-flower? It's still too new to tell exactly what the new growth is but it's not like anything the plant's done before.

I'm pretty sure I see two of these white hairs now I'm pretty sure it's a female. Do female pistils have a little vase looking thing that the white hairs come out of?

white hairs means female, and all cannabis plants dont have a gender, its the flowers that are either male or female

I don't have a camera, it's still too early because it could be the flower thing on the male ball's but they sure are starting to look like pistils over the last two hours they've become at least three times as big. They are hairs, but the hairs are coming from a little green vase looking thing above the calyx.

Yeah, the plant that is pre-flowering has been growing really rapedly this last weeks and just fromed calayx's and it just got it's alternating node. It shows a lot of female quality's but not when put next to the other one I have. I thought for sure the one that is showing pistils was going to be a male at first cause it's twice as big as the other plant, but it's nodes are the same spacing.

I'm growing Skunk Redbud and all the nodes are even, they have been in bud for 3 weeks and doing great. I have had a lot of plants over the years that never got alternating nodes, don't really know why but also really don't care why, but they all give me great smoke.

Yes it is a sign of maturity. If you are still vegging and seeing pre-flowers + alternating nodes, its probably a good time switch to flower. How long have you been vegging? Do you know the strain? Light? Medium? Nutrients?

I have a flood of CFL over 250W, A soil mix, I use Miracle Grow Plant Food for veg and have tiger bloom. I think I have train wreck but it's a random bag seed from LA and most of the top notch stuff there was mediocre at best. Vegging the entire month of April and all this month it's two feet now.

I'm still not entirely sure it's a pistil one of the hairs is definitely an amber color but it's only like this big - the other one looks like part of the little green vase the hair is coming from.

Do Pollen sacks even have hairs that grow from them or do they start as a little ball on a stem?
