My plan is to use
LED lightbulb in a desk lamp over a (doityourself) grow box I made with a 3g pot autoflowering northren lights seed
fox farms soil and tap water ( AND LOTS OF LOVE) do you guys think this is enough? i'm keeping it in a spare room I have which has fresh air and i can keep temps around 70-80 ANY advice guys? a really basic step by step would be amazing I read over 100 grow journals and since no one where i'm from can grow i've had no one to talk about it with

THANKS GUYS!

Good luck with your grow!
It sounds possible. As you may suspect, this could end up a bare-bones grow.
You may want to consider some CFLs w/beer can reflectors. This could add a lot to your grow for little cost.

You may also have a challenge with the pH of your tap water. Some can be OK, others can be off for growing.
If you are going to rely on the nutes in your soil to get you through your grow, I would want to make sure your water is OK.

maybe u can salvage a couple of buds with the light system you're using. with some cfls you could soon be smoking some really really good northern lights autos. that's what i grow during spring and they're great. GL

where can i find some really good cheap cfls? because in that case i wont even bother buying the desk lamp[ with a 90 watt led light
and like i said the room has fresh air also the tap water I have is fresh from maine (IE i live in maine) so i feel like it'd be okay any other zuggestions? my seeds will be here soon and I want all advice so I can stop buying bud from shitty people

home depot, wal mart, loews and many others sell cfls at good prices. u can buy them on line but the shipping fees are ridiculous. GL

These should work - assuming your desk lamp has standard screw-in sockets.
I did not see the costs of these bulbs, but I like 23W better than 13W. You should look for light temperature of ~6500K ('daylight') for vegetative growth, and ~2700K for flowering.
Not sure you want to use a desk lamp. I have the shop clamp lamps for my CFLs that I use for small plants. I can clamp & move anywhere. Others use multi-bulb fixtures for larger plants.
Consider reading throught the CFL forum https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-fluorescent-lighting/ for some good advice !

And they have hoods at homedepot so i should go there and ask for those cfls with a hood and i should be all set?

I use the clamp from Home Depot, then make hoods from beer/soda cans. You want the 'coils' of the bulbs to face your plants, not the end.
Using clamps, you can have a CFL for every major bud!
Most hard-core CFL users end up with a grow box/tent with a fixture on top, then more CFLs on the sides

ya but dont forget to get atleast 1 fan and either boil your water or leave it sit in an open container for a while before you feed it to your plant just to make sure

Hi, just get some house hold cfl's and connections for them, the more the better! Air circulation (fan) and temperature are important. Also PH the nutes, you can get a PH meter on ebay for about 10 euro, if you don't want to get one then just use distilled water.

Best of luck
