almost 3 weeks flowering, running out of room...

Gang,

I am a pc grower and here is my issue if you will. PLant is doing GREAT and has stretched a lot. I have a heat shield below my 3 main cfls and the top cola is pretty much nearly touching it. My question is, will the plant realize it can not grow in height anymore and just grow wide or what will happen?

To late to LST anymore, the stem is rock hard and thick as a nickle. First grow here so just wondering what the plant will do. From what I have read, the stretching should be about over, it is a mostly indica Snow White.

pc grow. I have plenty of light. 122 actual watts for one plant. That is not the issue. The lights can not be adjusted, they are on a power strip epoxied to the case or I would. I have a lexon heat shield just below.

its a pc grow.
i know of no hid bulb that works in a pc.

if it is only three weeks into flowering, you can top it no problem.
i know that you'll be cutting off pistils and whatnot, but it will actually create mutant huge buds later on.
it will solve your height problem.

Well my question really is what will the plant do left untouched? My cola is fattening real nice here. Here is a pic taken a few days ago...She is only about 18 days in flower. I have to assume the plant will stop growing taller, I mean if there is something stopping it, it would have to. My logic would be this would create either growing wider and or focusing more energy into flowers/buds....

THoughts?

i guess since u dont want to top it (i wouldnt either with a bud like that forming), go ahead and let it grow into the heat sheild... seems like ur only option since you cant LST it and u wont top it... just take these considerations earlier on in your next grow... learn from experience....

btw.. it will focus more energy on your buds if it CANT grow anymore... i have only noticed about 3 inches of growth on my top mini cola since flowering... so you mite not have a whole lot of vertical growth, but your bud WILL get taller and fatter... piks of your grow box would be nice to help u out with some solutions to fixing it... maybe next time you can do a mini scrog since you know that height WILL be an issue... check out my grow in my sig to see what i have to work with... i trained mine to grow in the shape of my box... i will however prolly be working on a scrog grow soon to see how it works in pc grow boxes...

Tie it down a bit. Nothing too severe...but a few inches reduction in height will buy you enough time as it does not keep growing vertically throughout flower.

Thanks my friend, I will shoot a pic up of what the insides etc. look like tomorrow. I have about 9 colas (including the main one) and for my first micro grow, I think she looks pretty good. Don't indicas usually stop stretching within 3 weeks into flower anyway? She was about 3 inches off soil going in and at least 10 inches tall now at 18 days since first pistol showed....

BTW. My stem is about 1/2 thick and strong as hell. I can't bend her to save my life. I won't risk doing that and hurting my lady. I am just going to ride it out. At 18 days since first pistols popped, I figure most stretching is done or close on a Snow White which has a pure indica father I believe...

If you cant tie it down and you dont have any more room then the answer is simple... Take it out the damn box!

yea either that of take the lid off and put some sort of spacer between it and the sides coming up, maybe to raise the light

top a flowering plant to create a huge mutant bud? where you get that info from? i think one cola left untouch is the biggest the cola would/could get. when u top, u have many colas, but none of thoses colas will have as big as a bud as the untouched one. since there are more colas, all the combined bud coming off all of thoses colas will give u a lil more of a yeild, but for a nice big mutant cola, i reccomend u leave it alone.

i dont even think its a good idea to top during flowering either. from what i seen from a personal experience, i topped a plant for my friend that had a huge monster cola grownn under a hps; anyway, after the topping, the buds under the cola which had white trichs turned amber the very next day, instead of over a weeks time. i think topping a flowering plant just pretty much brings the plant to near death. some of the buds still have white trichs with a hint of amber, the other buds on the top (now that the monster mail cola is gone) are all amber. AND.. cant u possibly turn your beautiful girl into a hermi from to much stress??!!?? so what they say! topping it is gonna cause major stress to ur girl, so if u do look for new growth that could be a hermi part, and get rid of it. or save u trouble and time but just leaving it, should of topped it during veg.

BTW. Here is a pick of my set up. Today I actually was able to bend the top down an inch, that is all she would move being 3 weeks into flower but now its not touching the heat shield. The very tip is a bit mashed and hard from drying up but its very small and she seems to be doing fine so no worries. I know these plants are very good at adapting to their grow space etc. Also, a pic from yesterday. She is looking good for a micro grow I would say. :bigjoint:

Looking great. My guess is that you will not have to worry about height issues, that plant should be done stretching soon.

Flowering with cfls is preffered for a small grow. Increased absorbtion and the ability to light the entire plant evenly.

Ha ha, thanks man. I hate all the CFL haters. Mine is fattening up great and I bet I will get at least 10 grams (shooting for anyway) only time will tell

( 8 total colas including the main one. Think that is doable? I do...I am a light smoker so this is just a hobby for me anyway, a REAL FUN one.......
