Allowed to drive with cannabis? not medicated

I was wondering if my buddy who's a patient can carry bud on him and sit passenger while I drive the car? No consumption in the car, just can he carry it on him while I drive? He is a legal patient, I will be this summer. thanks :)

yes if he is a legal patient thats the point, if he is driving however he is breaking the law in some states even if hes not high at the time, remember never admit to smoking marijuana

You can drive with marijuana in the car, however if you have paraphernalia with resin on it your "I swear I haven't smoked" argument goes out the window.

Basically if you're going to transport any bud just don't have any smoking devices on you (unless its brand new from a head shop and unused.) Also have your recommendation and card on you as well as at least 1-2 other forms of ID just to be safe and prevent any bullshit that you might get from a hard ass cop.

FWIW, there was a thread in the Legal forum a couple months ago. I posted a youtube in it that my gf sent me the link to. Basically, it was about this lawyer in, I think, San Diego who has had a lot of success getting people off on driving while toking charges. How's he do it? He bases his cases on not one but two federal studies done on marijuana and driving impairment. One is the DOT and the other was the Highway Safety folks. Both studies concluded that there is no evidence that marijuana use impairs driving. The worst effect they saw was that stoners tend to drive slower.

Here's the thread I referred to:

My doc said its best to put it in the trunk of the car where no one has access to it. Same deal with alcohol. Then the cop can't argue that your high. You shouldn't get pulled over if you drive properly, but if you do the cop isn't going to search your car for shits and giggles.

Good luck sellin a cop on this one. Even a judge wouldn't buy this. Fact is bud is still on the controlled substance list. I agree that people are capable of driving while high, but it doesn't matter if the feds did a test on it, and it their findings are irrelevant in a court of law. If they prove you were blazin while drivin you'll get a DUI no matter who your lawer is.

This is what my bro does when I ship him off with his meds. He's got a long drive and has been pulled over before and even has been searched with plants on him and realeased. As long as you don't have more than your supposed to or have used paraphenilia there should never be a problem.

You should put some shades and a hat on that plant and just drive around with it in the passenger seat
