I need major help to get my grow tent set up.. I have a darkroom 80 (2'8"x2'8"x5'3")

BUT i Doubt it is large enough to fit everything I need for my grow in there.

I have an inline fan that is 6"
Also a carbon filter that is 12"
A cooltube that takes up most the space in the growroom

I need to get all of that to fit ok in that space.
Would it be a bad idea to exhaust the hot air into my room with the carbon filter at the end?

I heard that it is best to bring air from outside in your growroom, and I was thinking about it BUT I live in the midwest..and theres alot of snow/cold air..:wall:

Will I want to bring cold air in?
I have EVERYTHING I need to get started..except the ph/ppm meter..:bigjoint:

If anyone has any suggestions, I'll appreciate it..Pics are at the bottom..
One pic is my 4" inline fan, you can see the carbon filter in the box, and My cooltube..

Suggestions + advice = appreciated
Thanks:weed:

it doesn't all have to fit in your tent.

Hook it up like this.

(FAN-reducer-light-ducting out of tent)carbon filter in your room

Everything in parenthesis should fit in your tent. You might need to get creative and put the light under the fan (which sucks becuase you'll have less vertical space, but that's what you get when you buy a 10 pound bag to put 20 pounds of shit in.)

Open up the passive air intakes in your grow tent and the negative pressure inside the tent will draw fresh air in. As long as the room that the tent is in gets a supply of fresh air you will be good.

If anything ill just have to ditch the carbon filter.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the air circulation in my room?
-should I have air extracted out the window..or bring fresh air in from the window..
-Fresh air is good but will get cold and im not sure if plants like cold air mixed with hps lighting..

suggestions any1?

i think i have a very similar set up. the dimensions on my grow tent are roughly the same. i do not have a cool tube though just a regular light. there should be an opening on the top of your tent about 6 inches in diameter approximately??? This is where i put my outake fan, your duct tube goes down that hole and connects onto the carbon filter, my tent came with velcro straps and on the inside ceiling of the tent there should be metal poles crossing eachother for stability, simply position the bars so you can put the velcro straps around them and hold the carbon filter in pace, im sure old belts would suffice. now where yourout take fan is simply( on top of your tent) connect more duct tubeing and run it out the window. For the air intake I would suggest buying another fan of equal or greater size and place it at the hole down the bottom corner of your tent. presumong there is one there and run the duct tubing from our window also.

All of this is assuming you have a similar model to mine, i hope it helps, sorry but youll have to sort out the cool tube yourself.

You will want a thermostat on the fan of any intake air that is really cold like that so that it doesn't give too much and can shut it off when it would have made the tent too cold.

I would not connect anything to a window unless you have done a lot of work to conceal the whole setup and can't see the vent at all or the sound of the fan. (even if you are rural, conceal your grow)

And don't plan on getting very far without that carbon filter hooked up. Your whole house will stink and anyone will know what's up just opening the front door.

Fuck a thermostat lol..All i need is to figure out, is a set-up that will work for my tent.

I guess cold air is out! I will have to push that shit out my window while bringing air in my tent from my room.

How does that sound?

You could make it fit. First off I would have suggested a smaller filter, 4 inch flange, 4 inch fan. If your stuck with what you already have thats fine, just get the proper reducers fittings for the ducting from your local hardware shop.

In your situation you will have to blow air into the cooltube from the fan/filter combo, you want to suck through the filter directly from the fan to prevent negative pressure in your ducting where odor can get in. If you have the fan directly on the filter after the fan everything is pressurized with clean odorless air.

Take the filter with fan hooked up strait to it, fan sucking on the filter, tape it up good thats the most important connection to prevent odor.

Mount your filter fan in the top back corner of your tent, horizontal if possible, vertical if absolutely required (*if vertical have filter down, fan blowing up.

Get some Insulated Flex ducting, I prefer insulated because it will prevent the ducting from just being a heater for the room, and its much more durable.

Now run the flex ducting with some slack, to the cooltube, then run another bit of ducting out of the tent, allow some slack for lowering the light. Then once its all in there tape up the connections and shes good to grow.
