read from lots that it burns several strains just in itself!
i suppose for some? ..but not me....i have never had any problems with using it... if i did, i wouldn't still be using it. some most likely just use it incorrectly,by adding extra nutes when its not needed...and if you transplant at the proper time, hardly any extra nutrients are needed.

not like i tell people to use it, cuz it has a bad rep, but hate when people say its doesn't work or its shit...well fertilizer is.... just that! lol

K.I.S.S.? nice lime, your plants look like you do whatever you possibly can to keep them healthy. I heard using miracle grow was horrible.....huh not everyone is right i guess
yup you got it!

i do nothing fancy...just the basics...water when needed.

yes ....thats what i keep hearing all the time too, makes me mad at times ....but each to there own...what works for one person may not always work for the other, just depends on if you can read a plant...hahaha

I would suppose that using miracle grow and no nutes would work just fine, but when adding the two especially in early stage of growth you would face problems such as nute burn and what not. Probably why some people say it doesn't work. I don't grow soil, but if I ever do. I am going to try miracle grow with no nutes to see how it does. By the way lime. I use hydro and your plants look healthier than mine. I don't know what is going on with my bigger plant now, something just doesn't seem right with it. I have been watching it for a few days to see if it gets any worse. It hasn't to my knowledge. I thought at one point it had a bit of nute burn. But then yesterday before I fed them, they looked like they were really hungry.

Thanks for the compliment.... much appreciated :bigjoint:

post a pic?.... i don't mind at all. maybe i can help you...and see, what may be going on?

nute burn starts @ the tips of the leaves and will get worse... if not corrected.

Okay, so here is a pic of my plant, I circled where one of the leaves has ripped. This has happened on a couple other leaves as well at the top. I am not certain how this happened. I don't rough handle my plants when I feed them and change the water. I mean it's possible I could have inflicted the damage, but I am convinced I didn't. Just want to know if anyone has ever heard of this happening to their plants. Also my fan leaves are folding under on the sides of the blades. A couple of the leaves have a couple of very small red spots on them. I tried to get a pic, but my camera sucks and can't focus that close. I could only get a pic of the ripped leave and the whole plant. day 39 of second plant taken on january 16th 2012 2.jpg

the tear is fine...it will stay green....happened to a few of mine too, from handling, I even had one hanging by just the vein, and it stayed on ( just hanging lol ) but still stayed green :)

plant doesn't look to bad just a bit of leaf curling down.....what kind of system is that?....do you have an air-stone in your res? is it light proof? what color is your roots? temp /humidity/ ph?nutrients and n-p-k, ppms?watering schedule...and all that good stuff...lol

edit---looks to me a tad over-watered. and there is no nute burn there that i see.

Hydro Aeroponic, aerogarden. Small grow, for a start. Only two plants. I have a couple hydroton balls at the base of the plants. It is light proofed. My roots are a whitish vanilla color. Temps get 82 degrees Fahrenheit max lights on, and 70 degrees Fahrenheit lowest lights off. Humidity was at 60-70% through veg, but now that I flipped to flower. It is down to 45% lights on, and 55% lights off. My ph is somewhere between 5.8 and 6.2. Right now I am using a liquid nutrient solution. Fox Farm Grow Big. 6-4-4. I have no idea what the ppm is. Other info, is lights are about 4-5 inches from the top of the bigger plant. A total of 76 watts CFL. I know, very low and kind of shitty, but I am not going for a huge grow here. I am in the future, but not for a first grow. I have a 6 inch wall fan mounted inside my grow box circulating air and lightly blowing at the plants. I have a ventilation duct running out the top/back of the box for hot air to escape. That is all I can think of.

ok...aerogarden, so constant watering to roots.

what color temp are your bulbs?....cfl's can be closer only a couple inches from plant...put them on sides too if you can.... your not getting enough light to lower leaves...pick up a few more cfl's 6500k for veg and 2700k temp for flowering...or both color temps , but definitely grab a few more...of the 2700k :) should help

everything else seems ok. :)

lime, you are a great guy and I am NOT going to jack your thread, LOL!

But I do wanna make a reply and and try to dispel some of the MG is the Black Plague of grow mediums thing.

Miracle Grow, IMHO is one of the best products a person can use if it is their first jump into farming, and even beyond. The reason I say this is it is very simple and it can actually teach how to grow, if used properly. I have a grow in MG going now. First ever, I use FF Happy Frog usually. But I had none this grow and MG was available. I did a basic 30/30/30 mix with MG potting soil, perlite, and sphagnum. The key to using MG is all in watering properly. All MG products have time released water activated nutes in them. The product line is designed with the K.I.S.S. theory straight from the bag. But again, it is all in the watering. Too much water and you get too high of a salinity and lock out issues. So let it dry out a bit and modify watering schedule and/or amounts. Too little water and deficiencies creep in, pretty easy to spot and MG as with soil as a whole is easier to fix then hydro systems. In MG a nute issue can cause permanent damage after a few days. In hydro that can be reduced to hours.

I think the real reason MG has so many haters. Is that as a whole, growers are pretty ego-centric. We love our girls and want to be totally in control of every aspect. Who are these MG people to tell us what and when our babies need something? IMHO all the MG bashig is the result of control issues and good sales and marketing tactics by other soil and nute producing companies.

Any soil even he 'top of the line' can have and cause issues. Look at FFOF, far and away the most used from the bag soil I have seen discussed on RIU. Yet most agree that it is too hot for seedlings and younger vegging plants.

IDK, I think the real haters of MG are those that have bought into the marketing and sales ploys and do not want too admit to themselves that they could have saved big bucks going to wal-mart instead of the "We make YOUR money grow on OUR trees" hydro stores. Again JMHO

The pics are of my 1st grow run in MG. went all through veg under nothing but 2 regular 40w fluoro tubes. Just moved too my tent...check the jounal in my sig.

Ok, now let's get back to the plant porn!

I have no idea what color temp they are, and probably no way of telling. There is also no way to put them on the sides. Right now I have no way to get anymore lights. Broke as hell man...I am trying to work something out so hopefully soon. I can purchase a 400w hps. For now though I have to deal with shitty low wattage cfls.

This may sound idiotic, but I don't really care. I had two cfls going in the beginning of veg. My temps would never get above 80 degrees. I added another cfl. Making a total of three. And now the temps get to 84 max. I have to imagine that they aren't in a cool spectrum if they are raising temps? It's just a thought and I am baked haha. Just thought I would ask/share.

Some more pics i forgot to load the other day and as everyone is talking about this is with MG Moisture control soil and Gen Hydro nutes just for bloom just the three part line flora series i think and i used vigoro plant food from home depot it was a yellow bottle 10-10-10 liquid feed at 1/4 strength at first for veg and moved up to i believe full strength by then end of veg. I didnt mix anything in with my soil just straight MG MC soil. Also just kinda guessed with the feeding using back of the bottle and what the plants told me and i didnt even know the bottle directions were not for soil but i got it to work. All my plants were from seeds havent tried clones or cloning yet. anyway i thought i did ok using what i used and not even knowing i was using a hydro feeding chart and all. The only issue i had with the soil or i believe it was the soil was i got spider mites and i dont know where they would come from if it wasnt my soil.

regarding miracle gro:
YES, fertilizer is fertilizer, BUT one big caveat: when you buy miracle grow (which is owned by scott's), your money goes to the 2nd largest investor in GMO technology in the field, second only to monsanto, with whom scott's has a rather cozy relationship (exclusive marketing rights to roundup, acquisition of their lawncare division, etc. etc.).

when you grow in mg you might as well wear a button that reads "i support GMO cannabis". apparently they're already working on it.
