Alcohol curing? NOT extraction

what up fellas..my friends been trying things out with his bud n one thing he tried is alcohol curing. he said all u need to do is take the highest percent rubbing alcohol u can find, the use a spray bottle to mist it on the bud, then let it dry out for a day or 2.. have any of u guys heard of doin this ? i want to try it but i dont know if it actually works.

I dont know about spraying weed with rubbing alcohol...doesnt sound to healthy

yeah may not be but i smoked bud cured like this...and it was ridiculous i got rippppped . the trichromes crystalized much more than before doin it

I would wait for some more replies...ive never heard of alcohol curing

yeah im definitely not in any rush to spray rubbing alcohol on my buds but hopefully someones heard of it

Uhh..no..just dont do that. You gotta heat alcohol to a certain temp to
get it to evaporate like when making hash oil. If you just sprayed it on bud
then SOME might evaporate but a good percentage will still be present on the
weed. IMHO dont do that..

So, what are you saying, that you don't believe your own eyes or you don't believe your friend cured his bud that way? I don't know about an alcohol cure, but it seems like you have already answered your own question. I would get some grain alcohol though if I were you. Some vodka or everclear if you can find it. At least it has not been denatured and is consumable. Remember, 70% is actually got 30% water and is called 140 proof. Everclear is running 95% or 190 proof.

i dont see how spraying alcohol on buds and then letting the alcohol evaporate will make cured bud
there is still water in the bud that needs to come out
what happens to that?

only time i put alchohol on buds is when im makin oil with it..

Doesn't alcohol dissolve THC? Isn't that how you make tincture?

the resin on the buds is oil based and the alcohol will break down the oil.

IMO - DON'T DO IT!

I am open to the possibility that it works but based on everything I have read up on this subject, alcohol will break down the THC. IDK, maybe it effectively melts the THC gland onto the plant matterial before it evaporates kind of coating it, but I don't know how it would have an effect that improves potency. I could also see the alcohol helping the plant dry out as alcohol helps water evaporate faster. But, I would think that the most logical thing to happen it would be that it decreases the potency of the herb since it will dissolve a % of the THC, and leave the herb with a rubbing alcohol taste.

Its probably a bad idea. But the alcohol would dissolve the resin and it would be reabsorbed in the plant material. Might change the smoke some.
