Alchemy?

I wondering how cannabis and alchemy are related , new or old styles. I know little about alchemy itself, but what i do know is it relies on organic processes, and that there is a plant version of alchemy called Spagyrics. Tinctures are involved in Spagyrics as well as cannabis. Does anybody have more info on the subject?bongsmilie

Alchemy is an ancient tradition, the primary objective of which was the creation of the mythical "philosopher's stone," which was said to be capable of turning base metals into gold or silver, and also act as an elixir of life that would confer youth and immortality upon its user. As practiced historically, alchemy can be viewed as a protoscience, a precursor to modern chemistry, having provided procedures, equipment, and terminology that are still in use. However, alchemy also included various non-scientific mythological, religious, and spiritual concepts, theories and practices.

I like to think in a past life i was a alchemist

reason why im interested in alchemy, is I believe that Alchemy was the remnants of when society was more advanced then it is now, and after whatever happened happened the survivors tried to represent science as best as they could and pass it on as society started over again. In short I believe Alchemy is window into what we used to before the dark times

Me too, with my wizard's pipe and large, overflowing robe... lol

Man, those would've been the days...
Whats stopping you? You could own and wear a pipe and large overflowing robe today if you wanted to. Totally legal and protected practice to do so. You can do or be anything you want in this great country of inalienable rights. Get your robe on, let these be the days!

sorry but comparing alchemy to modern chemistry is like comparing atrology to modern astronomy. alchemy is a venture into chemistry at a time when scientific method was not used, they relied on imagination.

If i was the one of the last survivors of a fallen society, and it was up to me to pass on what info i did know, which in my case is a high school education and some college, plus my extracurricular reading, big parts of medicine and science would be missing, which would cause the people i passed on info to to use there imagination to further expand there knowledge, through that imagination, and trail and error, which eventually lead to scientific method and the chemistry and science we have today.
I'm not trying to learn new things about modern chemistry through alchemy, I'm trying to learn were we came from, and i feel a good starting point is an ancient medicine that I'm thoroughly interested in and an ancient methodology. When i first learned that Alchemy relied of natural slow organic processes it started me thinking about the processes that are used to today to extract thc and realized even though today's methods may work well, maybe there is a different way that gets different results. I believe if i can make one connection to the ancient world, then maybe i can build from there and eventually have new insight on were we came from. History is awesome what is even more awesome is lost history.

Cannabis is real and alchemy is essentially mythology. It's like comparing phrenology to psychology. One has quantifiable, measurable and repeatable elements and one does not. The end.

Interesting syncronicity, just came across this website:
http://alchemy-illuminated.com/Documents/mission.html

In skimming the site, the concept of 'morning dew' would lend itself to easy exploration and experimentation.

I've always been drawn to it, however it always seemed to be a bit elusive.
Right now I'm experimenting with orgonite and derivatives, eloptic energy and uvb, Fermented plant extracts are up next, maybe we'll see if there is a difference between ones made in a plastic bucket or one that's buried in a egg shaped clay vessel aligned to the sun, moon and stars.

About our lost history, that's quite a rabbit hole. For me a highlight was the concept of we being immortal spiritual beings. Sure the religions take that from here and now on out but if we have always been immortal spiritual beings why is it we don't remember?
