The most common mistake a new grower makes is doing too much.thank man what do you mean less is more ?
Too much water. More nutrients than the plant can safely handle. Getting the lights so close they burn the leaves. Transplanting and changing the soil all the time. Constantly disturbing the plant during 'lights out.' These things can shock your plant, slow its growth, and even kill it.
So you want to think of growing as you aiding the plant do what it wants to do already; grow tall and big and beautiful and, hopefully, produce buds! See my point?
You want to help your plant along. Someone can't swim if your all over them, you will both just sink. If you provide the right conditions however, you can teach someone to swim.
Maybe not the best metaphor but that's how I think of it,
