AK-48, 400w Hps, DR80, Canna Nutes

Starting to get thicker now, but no swell yet or changing pistils, so I dont think they'll live up to their supposed 48 day flowering period, but they from what Iv been reading around day 53 is supposed to be perfect for this strain.

Just a random update, gonna have to get all the photos together and do slideshow, will be interesting watching them grow!

Looking nice, I just finished my AK48 grow a few months ago. I am not sure where they came up with the 48 days flowering as mine took about 70 days.........I could have cut it back to 63, but was looking for that knock out buzz. I also never really had a smell issue, at least not compared to my LSD grow and my current Blackjack grow. I must say the taste isnt anything great, but the high after a good month+ cure is really nice. I love when someone who usally smokes swag weed takes a few hits and it knocks them on thier ass.......I laugh my ass off. Anyway good luck on the harvest, I posted a few pics of what u have to look farward too.

Cheers for stopping in man,and fucking NOICE plants dude. I'm definitely looking for a sativa buzz,did you wait for a bit of Amber before harvesting? Im gonna chop mine when they're mostly cloudy.

Thanks, I looked at the trichomes under a microscope and shut them down once I had about 15-20% amber with the rest being milky with a few clears sprinkled in. I was hoping for a mix of heady and KO buzz, but mine turned out more on the KO type. It really wasnt a big deal to me as I have several other people I know who also grow and we all trade buds for buds, so I usally have a several types to chose from anyway. If I had to do it again I would have shut it down at 63 days from the 12/12 flip. I also do 72 hours of total darkness before cutting them down and trimming them up, I am not for sure it makes a difference, but its something I have always done. (they do seem to clisten a bit more after the darkness) I had four plants and harvested about 8oz for nice buds, and a few more O's of popcorn/premo trimmings. I will be keeping an eye on your grow, good luck and enjoy the AK.

Not much change, they just keep getting bigger! But I snipped one of the less sugary pieces of sugar leaf and put it under the scope and thought Id share the pictures. Some pistils starting to change now but its still very very few.

As you can see from the trics they're almost completly all clear, its best to look at the ones on the edges, easiest to see the colour because the ones with a "background" always look cloudy/amber.

lookin lovely mate, nice one. must say since i started using the canna stuff the colour of the plants is perfect. they look very healthy with the canna.

Why are you never going back to Biobizz?

Biobizz plants don't look in any way as healthy or vigorous as these Canna plants,the pH of Biobizz is like 4-5 aswell and to be honest,it's just processed molasses for €15 a litre. Won't ever go back,intact I even gave away a litre of each I had left.

did ya top ya plants or anything mate or just let em grow straight up?

Topped them at the second true node for 4 colas,wouldn't let an indoor plant just grow straight up,means one good cola and a load of popcorn.

Another point about the Biobizz actually,I also grow onions,tomatoes,etc and I wouldn't use the Biobizz on them even!Tomatoes love Canna too btw!

The plants are growing well but I'll check in at the end with yield and smoke reports,so far I really like this strain but can't be sure till the end!

You mean the nutes i thought you meant the soil, i use canna aswell its quality stuff

sweet lookn plants...is that a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2 m tent ?

No it's an 0.8 x 0.8 x 1.6,yeah,the 600 may seem extreme but I want to "maximise my limited space" I'll do 6 next time tho,wasted a spot with perfectly good light coverage.
