I had 2 open heart surgeries, one was a full on transplant. I'd rather go through that again than have a full on gout flair up for any amount of time.

I have 2 4x8's and a 2x8 cabinet, just starting a new hunt myself. Filling a 4x8 with 12 testers
sorry to hear about your surgeries man i hope you will not need anymore of those. life is indeed hard sometimes.

i’m with you on that i mean i really cant think of a past experience that i wouldnt choose over having gout either.

would love to have a couple of dedicated grow rooms but its still schedule 1 “drug” the cannabis over here so keeping it hush hush lol.

Sorry to hear you guys are suffering from gout. If it hasn't been recommended I suggest a low purine diet. It will help with the number of flares but not the genetic propensity. Best of luck in struggling with this very painful condition.
yeah then what no meat no seafood no protein in general. what kinda living is that haha. kidding aside tried it for 3 months after the attack started and my uric acid kept getting higher without allopurinol. this is the first time i had to start using medicine to stop an attack. losing weight fast bc i gained like 40lbs in the last year due to shitty eating habits. i am almost sure that weight gain is the culprit in this relentless attack.

Worst part is beer triggers it. Been on the diet since I was a kid because of my kidneys. All the preventative drugs ( Ulrich, coltrazine, allopurinol) they make me pee blood. Like cherry coke, or dr pepper. Last time I needed 3 transfusions. Stay away from legumes, beans, peas. Prednisone for the win! Knocked out in two days, until next time. Gimpy crew, out

I lost 98lbs last year. The weight loss definitely helped. I was retaining water from blood pressure meds, so I had to take a diuretic. The water went out quick, but left all the impurities behind. Like not flushing a pot with salt nutes after heavily feeding for months. Needless to say, my foliage was torched. Don't stay in bed, keep it moving. I know it hurts like nothing else, but you have to clear out the crystals.

nice analogy atm i am recovering from a nutrient burn for sure haha

yeah as i started losing weight without allopurinol my uric acid levels started rising like a mf i drink like 5L of water and coupled with allopurinol last test was under 7 this week i’m gonna do another one hoping for under 6 and hoping to stop using allopurinol after i lose this extra weight.

when you had your kidney bleedings was it immediate or did you take the medicine for a couple of weeks and then you noticed these symptoms? i am still peeing in a bucket to keep an eye on it and if i just dont drink water for like 4-5 hours my pee turns deep orange no blood smell or anything though just the color is really off.

does prednisone also lowers your uric acid or is it like colchicine?

I'm positive you're correct, especially since the tendency to this is genetic. But you've been dealing with it for a long time so you know your responses and what works. I'm glad the pred works for you.
had my first gout attack when i was practically an alcoholic my grandpa always had high uric acid levels but he didnt drink but for like 6-7 years every night i was consuming what would amount to half a liter of pure alcohol and that really screwed my health.

The bleeding took a few weeks to creep up. But I have polycystic kidney disease stage 3. I wouldn't worry about the blood in the urine.

Prednisone is a steroid. It relieves the swelling around the inflamed joint allowing the crystals to dissipate. Knocks it right out for me. Ask your doctor, or go to an urgent care if you still have symptoms. 10mg a day for a few days, then taper the dose off for the next 4 days. Double up the first day if it's bad. You can't just stop taking it, you have to taper it down or else your testosterone goes haywire. Check your attitude while taking it. You will be angry horny and hungry. Angry bang your wife and stay away from the fridge

Anytime man, feel free to reach out whenever. I have lots of experience with various ailments. The side effects of the prednisone are well worth it if you still have symptoms. Fuck gout

ah ok its been over 2 weeks i guess but everything is going fine on this end. in the flower tent, there are 2 distinct phenos as expected one is more on the indica side but maturing slower, smells like coriander and celery.

on the other side a more sativa leaner maturing faster smells like pine and lemon for now and some sweetness.

they both smell delicious btw and i think they still have a month to go or even more but i may need to chop sooner we’ll see :)

i dont mind so much the yellowing and burned edges and stuff this grow was neglected from the beginning so it was to be expected. overall though i cant complain.

so felt good yesterday and set up the other bed. used 2 cups of high p bat guano, 1/4th of the medium is chicken and farmyard manure and homemade ewc, also added basalt, lava rocks, lava rock sand, just a couple of handfuls of sand, wheat bran, barley, malted rye, recycled organic coco mix, fresh coco from blocks, old dry cannabis leaves and stems, 2 cups of dry stinging nettles, some clay shards i found at home, micronized zeolite, and negligible amounts of perlite and vermiculite just because i had them. (oh now i wish i also added activated carbon well there is always the next time)

today i planted these 3 gals which have been sitting in my clone tent for so long. 3 malawis from ace seeds. they have been sitting in those pots for so long i even forgot if they were regular or feminized. need to check. well anyway this will be the first time i’ll grow these and i’ll pick the best plant to keep. i know they seem so sad now but they will probably look very different in 2 weeks.

normally i’d say a week but today as i was planting them i noticed the soil got hot. not like a true composting hot but its definitely more toasty at the bottom of the pot so this may make them uncomfortable at the beginning but i am not so worried atm because this happens with my mixes constantly as i also add a lot of fresh organic material like rye, bran, nettles, dry leaves etc and it usually stops in a week or so. also there is a lot of worms from the ewc. i also seem to have really doubled the medium volume compared to my first attempt. well anyway such a long winded post. here it goes.

and here is the other tent looking better everyday i topped them a couple of times to get a better side branching going. i already identified the one on the front left (malawi #III) as male so i just left a single branch which will give me all the pollen i need to make malawi seeds. hoping the other two are girls ofc haha3BD2906D-9776-4FC9-9158-E9122C612D42.jpegC9EA62FE-0628-4DB9-AC66-07518E250757.jpeg71922114-4BDE-4BE8-8273-040C41000C47.jpeg

i bit the bullet and changed out my diy fixture with another lumatek attis 200w i had in my mother tent. wasnt easy to untie all the colas and re-tie them etc but it looks much better now with very decent coverage. malawis are looking better and better everyday. i’m for the first time in years fighting off a gnat infestation in this tent and i am 100% sure its because of peat. i stored the wet pasteurized hay i use as mulch in a closed container with very old peat moss and i think somehow that moisture made the dormant eggs on peat crack and the larvae got transfered into the tent on the hay. how can gnat eggs can stay alive for 5 years beats me though :)

so for now i am letting it dry out and no mulch for now. also noticed increasing hypoaspis population so i am sure given enough time they will handle those gnats. not worried so much :)

its been some time since i updated i guess huh? well here goes nothing. i harvested both (dinachemxblue kush)xdestroyer. they were not bad at all but this one destroyer leaning pheno kept throwing new flowers till the end and it was super fluffy and not frosty at all but still had very pleasant and open high and decent potency. made me chatty and happy. quality sativa effects minus the bag appeal haha.

now i’m throwing 2 zamaldelicas into that tent to choose between the two and decide which one i’m gonna keep. i ran 3 of these before and decided these 2 to be better suited to my liking and i’m hopefully going to decide this run which one is truly superior in my eyes. both has unmistakable carrot smell while one of them has a sharper hint of something in it maybe i’ll be able to identify it this run too. also how do you like my diy scrog net lol
82D8645D-C01B-43AB-BEDC-D0CDB87950AB.jpeg

in the other tent malawis are going well. i already culled the male 10 days ago and been keeping him in sugar water and harvesting pollen to do targeted pollinations. also took clones of the one on the right as it seems much more vigorous and already pretty frosty than the one on the left but i’m pollinating both because you never know :)

the malawi i’m keeping gives almost a hint of chocolate when i rub it. i dont know if this is common profile for malawis but i like it i hope it keeps that profile till the end.

cleaned up the zamaldelicas a bit. the color is getting greener everyday soon we’ll see very decent growth. i’m hoping to flip in a week or two

malawis are going strong and getting fatter. the gnat problem is almost resolved. i just see a couple everytime i open the tent and i use my handy handheld vacuum to destroy lol.

i put a yellow trap above the lights caught mostly hypoaspis miles with some gnats lmao.

i flipped the zamaldelicas i think it’ll take 3 weeks plus for them to transition and i’ll weave them through the net during that time. also i forgot to take a pic of that tent so here is the other one with the malawis haha

one malawi is already getting brown pistils and it wasnt even a month since i flipped. the other one has very distinct sativa flower formation. both seem like they are gonna turn out to be truly interesting specimens :)

the soil had a little too much nitrogen for these delicate sativas i guess but i dont see any severe problems, just some tip burn. i think i’ll not topdress at all for this grow.

the other tent man lol

yeah not much to look at atm haha

i think the vigor contest is in zamaldelica #3s favor on the back there. as for the flavour i also liked #3 in the first run but this run will be the ultimate test for both.
