Airflow in small grows

Hey guys, i am a first-time grower who has chosen northern lights for the first-time grow. i'm only going to grow 3 plants for the first time just to see how it works out. I have a basic growtent and the necessary lights. The only thing that i still have to save up for is the outlet and the intake-fan (+ carbon filter) i already have two normal desk fans so internal airflow shouldnt be a problem. so i wonder, can i already start my first grow without the intake fan, theouttake fan and carbon filter? The only reason i was wondering was because it is a small grow, and i would love to start out. ofcourse, if it isnt a good idea, i wouldnt do it. but if let's say i would cut down to 1 plant, and i would open the growroom every now and then would it maybe be more reasonable? thanks it advance and i'm sorry that i come across as such a noob (wich i am)
 
yes you can as long as air is being sucked in which it will. you dont need the carbon filter till flowering time. use that fan and suck air in till you get another also.

I have a few more questions and i hope you guys can help me with those too.
1; I already bought 125w CFL light bulbs (6400k, 7760L) and i was wondering how many plants would be the most efficient per lamp.
2; I keep researching about the soil but nowhere i can find a good definitive answer on what soil would be best for a first time grow (Strain: Northern lights)

.5 plants per fluoro. Doesn't seem worth it to me. As far as soil I like fox farm ocean forest(ffof). Don't start seeds or tiny plants in it. It's too hot for babies. This info is all over the site. But for a first grow I wouldn't invest too much cause it's likely you will fail. There is only one way to learn though.
 
I used to sell those huge fluoros to people knowing they would be back it a month or two. I never offered to sell someone a fluoro except to start clones or seeds. That's all its good for imo. Some people like airbud bobos though so that's my opinion.

i forgot to mention that i think organic might be the best choice for me as a beginner, because it is a little less complicated and you only have to add water (if i read correctly) let me know what you think!

You might as well get them all going now, or you will be stuck with just the one because of lamp height problems. I have never used an extraction system on my veg tent, there is no need if you leave the tent flaps open. A small fan inside for circulation is sufficient if you have heat problems.

Yeah i kinda wanted to do that but in order for me to get permission from my mom (i am a dutch 18 year old) she wants an odorless set-up since it's gonna be in the hallway. Do you know of more cheap odor control tips?
