Ive just noticed that while everyone (almost) has a temp issue...no one really air conditioners...is there some reason for this?

first time i was involved in this we had both rooms air conditioned, the system was sick, but it was a huge scale, and we tripled the size of the unit on the house.
Most people here are just trying to grow to smoke, and all are trying as hard as they can to stay under the radar. Air conditioners are expensive, there noisey and they add a ton to your already growing energy bill.
For a small grow, you should be good with extending the nearest AC vent to blow somewhere near the room, not directly on the plants though, too cold.
if your closest is really over heating, and the unit in the house will not suffice, HD and lowes sell some roll around units for that just need a place to drain and can be set up to cool the shit out of a small spot, or even a whole room. with out the risks of a window shaker.
