Air temperature question

I am currently cooling my 5x5x7 tent with 1 1000w light with a 10,000 btu air conditioner and was wondering if i could use outside air to cool my light? I live in the mountains in colorado and it gets to be in the 30's during the day and single digits overnight. Im wondering if the cold temp at night would damage the light or the bulb, or am i just overthinking it?

Nah you should be good but your gonna want to put some kind of dust/debris filter on the end of the pipe... They make intake filters for whatever size light/pipe your running, I think they call them mushroom filters or something... The only thing I'd worry about with temps that low would be condensation when the light was off #1, and the other thing I'd think about would be how to keep cold air coming in and chilling your crop or wherever your dumping your light exhaust. if it doesn't matter where the air is dumping you still have to worry about air passing through at lights out and turning your reflector is going into a big cooling sink and cool your tent down... I have a damper that closes when my fans shut down but the end of your pipe has to be in a vertical position.

Depending on how much that ac is running you could save yourself a few $'s by figuring it out rather than running the ac... I'd try personally.. My 10k costs me like $60+ a month to run...and that's only running it when I absolutely have to.
