Good question. I use 2x2 foot hoses in my bubble cloner, seems to be working working pretty well. I've been tempted to try out those round pads too.

I can't find it but there's a study that shows there's not much difference between any method of oxygenation. This included a regular air stone and a micro bubbler, as well as a water pump. Water pumps can oxygenate either by waterfall or being submerged and causing turbulence on the surface. I think you'll be fine with whatever you've got.

Stay away from the Limewood or the wooden air stones in general. I used a few and they always get the Clear jelly slime on them. Roots arent bothered, but the airstones are caked in the shit.

I tried the blue stones from Wally-World, they didn't last.

I get air-stones from my local Hydro Shop now, $3.00ea, rugged and easy to clean.

There is a thread on here about just that a person on here who I've seen post on allot on dwc threads i trust their opinion and their test they had some kind of tester that measures dissolved oxygen levels from the cheap blue ones for $1 and the bad ass $20 ones. It was the same the only thing that affected the amount of oxygen was the temperature of the water. So save your money, by the way i wasted mine, lol. The $3 onez that hugo posted a pic of are perfect and all u need just keep ure temp down and you will get the most oxygen put of the stones.

I use those too, or I did. Over the last year I have been developing a High Energy Rez system that constantly circulates the nutes + creates DO. Come see it in action. Month old plants from cracked seeds are ridiculous
