Air Scrubbing

I was wondering why my "scrubber" wasnt working, and after looking up the recommended CFM movement (being able to scrub the whole room in 5 minutes) and I only had about 1/5th of the suggested CFM going through my fan. My question is, before I go buy a 600 CFM fan and big carbon filter, does anyone have any negatives about scrubbing the air in the room? Is it an effective odor control method?

Some strains stink. Mine dose I kill about 80% of the smell. But if you deside to upgrade fan and filter place your curent fan and filter in the room. Yes fan set on the filter. No tube needed just let it filter the room air and put it back in the room.

Yah I have a 4" Inline on top of the tent venting into the open room, with the Carbon Filter inside of the tent. Also have a bottle of Ona Pro next to the inline fan. Just poked a couple holes in the lid of the jar and all is good so far. Cant smell anything but fresh linen :-P

yeah I'd just upgrade to a big filter combo and a ozone generator...I don't like odors escaping the grow area...and on some super dank strains even the carbon filter lets you down but the ozone doesn't...I prefer to run the ozone the last few weeks of flower if the odor is out of control...I guess you going up to an 8 inch if you only need 600cfm?

was thinking about going with a 705 cfm 8'' with a big carbon filter. I will have to start checking out ozone gens

Glann make sure your Fan and Filter work together... filters usually have 2 cfm ratings. min and max... you need to make sure your fan is strong enough for the filter but not so much that it over powers your filter. example, if you have a filter that is rated between 200-400 cfm you don't want fan that is rated at 145cfm cause it's not strong enough, and you don't want a 500cfm fan cause it's too strong. A 400cfm fan would work well for that size filter. I like to use the octane example. you don't want to put 87 in a car that takes 89 and you shouldn't put 92 in cause it's not efficient enough to burn 92... hope that make sense and helps. One other thing that I hear helps is adding ona gel to your grow room, just poke a few holes in the lid and let it sit in your grow area.
good luck stay high
