Hi guys first off i am running a 1000 watt hps in a 4'w x 7'L x 8'H closet, exhuast is running into attic via 6" inline fan(carbon, magnumum xxxl then fan in that order). when I shut the door there is a good 1/2 inch of space between the floor and the door is this enough to get air into the closet?? I also have a 16" oscilating fan on the inside running 24/7 to move the air. Im not worried about light leaking becuase i blacked out my windows. any advice??
The reply you have had is correct.
If you have a 6inch fan then you need at least 2x6inch holes or a hole with the same surface area as 72sq inches.
If you have your exhaust into your attic, is your attic properly vented to disperse the heat?
If you have and your attic stays pretty cool then you could always add another 2 6inch holes into your attic and duct your air down through the room to the floor. Remember to use some stockings/pantyhose over the ducts.
This is kind of what i do. I have my lighting system venting into my chimney stack (no grow room air passes through this system) and my exhaust straight out into my attic. With the addition of some Soffit vents that i fitted to my soffit boards, some conveniently positioned right by my growing area, i am able to duct cool air from my roof line passively through some intake holes with ducting directing the air to the floor.
