air cool hood question

Hi, I just have a standard 400 MH watt reflector. My temps are in the upper eighties at canopy level and its spring time so its getting warmer. I was just inquiring to anyone with an air cool hood, that upgraded from a bare light reflector. I plan on buying a air cool hood, how many degrees did an air cool hood lower your temps?

It does not lower it to much, I have a air cooled 1000watt hood, even with the AC on it still peeks at like 78-80. Thats ok though, trial and tribulation has taught me that if it cant take a little stress, then its probably not a good yield plant anyway

It will help a good amount as long as you have solid outtake fan sucking the air out. I can keep my temps sub 78 year round with a 600w hps

that is real good to me, for my 400 watt non air hood I peak at 90 degrees.

It all depends on you....What i mean by this is, if you get the proper amount of ventilation in the room and light you will lower the temps to your liking...Always buy a fan bigger than what you will need...If you ever upgrade later, you will thank me..Plus get a fan speed controller....With the right set up of an inline fan and the hood, you can get your temps to 80 or less on a constant basis.....How big is your grow room??? That should be a major question you answer..
