Air Conditioner Size

Guys, I need an A/C unit for me APT. It has a wall slot for it. My Apt is around 600-650 sq ft. How many BTU's should I look for? I hear too big, and it turns your place into a freaking freezer. Im just looking for something to keep the place cool.

All input is appreciated.

My place is small & I'm using a 5000 btu...just right..bigger and you have hard nipples all the time.......
