Air Buds or too early?

Hi folks,

this is LSD Auto from Barneys, it is about 8 weeks old now, grown under 220W of custom CFLs (color spectrum changed when step into flowering) in 20 litres pot. I am afraid of getting low potency buds, looks too airy to me, pistils are long as fak, other growers have big calyxes as hell, mine are too tiny that I can't even see them in the buds.

Will more trichomes come?

THX for any comments.

PS: I was also thinking about defoliation (I did it already 2x, not too much, to not stress the plant), but people told me, that I am only wasting the time of the plant, lower buds wouldnt even profit anyway if its defoliated or not, leaves will regrow again and it will just drain power from the plant, so I tried to only move big fan leaves out of buds and gave up on defoliation.

It looks fine. 8 weeks from seed is a young plant.
Defoliation on an auto could turn out to be counter productive. Just let it ride

Honestly the plant looks really dark for this stage. Are you having any leaf yellowing? It looks to be nitrogen loaded. That will delay flowering and any delay hurts your gainz
Yellow are just tips or edges of some leaves. Nutes I am giving my plant contains some N, but in ratio of 5-10-5 NPK. I have only bat guanos, no other nutes with phosporus. Is it too late to get some from gardening shops?

8 weeks from seed on an auto is not young IMO

I agree with him on not cutting leaves. I would test your runoff and see ppm. If it’s really high maybe water only for a little bit.

I’m saying it’s not young. You should have some leaves turning yellow and starting to die at least by now I would think. It seems like your plant is almost too green for this stage. Which brings me back to nitrogen

You got to be kidding. If leaves are yellowing at this stage, the op should head to the Plant problems section

Plant doesn’t look that unhealthy to me. Your leaf colour looks alright. Lots has to do with strain and some can be finiky. I don’t grow autos. As far as trichomes lighting is everything and as far as bud growth that is also light related. I think IMO your light is what’s holding you back grow growth rate and quality and will effect the weight obviously. How many watts of CFL lights are you running and what kind of space are you growing in? Your temps? Your humidity?

All depends on the plant. Even a photo wont start flowering till mature and showing sex. Autos are no different.
That plant looks a week or two into flower.
So you think I should just wait? I thought flowering perioud started about 3 weeks ago, since 1st pistils appeared

Pistils are just a sign of maturity. If flowering starts immediately you have around 2 to 4 weeks of stretch give or take a week. Then flowering starts in earnest. Strain dependent on how long they go after that.

220W of 11 CFL bulbs (8 are 2700K, 3 are 6500K), it is about 10 cm away from the light source and total lightened area is 40x40 cm (just under the ligh source), temp is 24°C, humidity 49 %, blow fan is on 24/7.

I find cfl and fluorescents great for veg but if you want the dank buds you need more power. You can get a really good 100 dollar light from amazon that should bud one plant nicely if the conditions are good. Which if that’s what they are aren’t bad at all. The x6 cob led goes for about a hundred bucks and it’s a beast for the money. I have one and used it three grows in combo with hps and another led to get the wattage per square foot where I want it. If you want I will post the ad if the light

Couldn’t agree more which brings me back to my point of the plant is behind and should have bigger buds and yellowing leaves. Thanks man
Your fixation on early yellow leaves is troubling. You should seek advice in the plant problems section
