Ok so what are you gonna do from here? Gonna sue em? Gonna provide more competative pricing? Gonna cry and whine?

I have clearly shown I believe that is something that led manufacturers need to deal with, the price is too high and so you adapt or die.
I guess I could threaten Samsung with N.Korea or something and make them give me better pricing..... Then again. I could farm it all out to China like every other company and screw this place huh. I can assure you we are far from dieing. Just not a fan of unethical business practices. Besides go check out the par chart if you don't think they cut corners somewhere........

Cost of lm301 is something like 6c if I had the right info.... so that is about a third of the cost of a board just in diodes....

In retail he has to deal with returns (even the messy ones from Amazon), marketing samples, insurance, storage, transport infrastructure etc. to make sure not just little guys like us, but large grows get their lights on time. The Chinese pirates run an inferior copy a product for a batch run and then they disappear.

Dont forget if hes a legit business and has employees, he also has to pay into insurances and worker comp. I'm assuming they are legit and do that. And dont forget business tax. City tax, county tax, state tax, and federal taxes.

I think Stephen should buy a pile of those shitty copies and just send them to people like you when you nag like this for cheap boards
Sounds like a good idea, apparently they are making copies of his board cheaper than he can hahaha

The hlg550 at 2 more inches away on a 2x2 shows a tad more par than the argo550. They measure at 22" HLG does 18 and 24. All the corners on HLGs at 2x2 are 400+ and argos on 2x2 only hit 400+ on two out of 4 corners. Their center numbers are higher than hlgs. But drop off alot faster. But they can be the difference in meters too. Not taking sides with either. But to choose either light based of the par map provided by either is really a shot in the dark. Bc with my meter I bet neither numbers will be the same if I tested with my meter. But both say flower 4.5x4.5 maybe 4x4. But 4.5x4.5 is really pushing it. I dont think even with reflective sides in a tent. The clear outsides on a 4.5x4.5 flowers would go to the hash bin.

We really need to update our par charts lol. The new Rspec is a lot better. Those par charts were with the first lm301bs we used. Flux is up almost 2 lumens at 65ma since we started which indicates a 3+% jump. Another bin will be out by July by my figures. They are all right at the top edge of the SK bin now.

I need to get some of your guys uv strips and 660 strips to put with my strip builds to see how they do. I'd love for you guys to make strip with both red n blues two channel. Like 40 diode. 20 of each. On a 280mm length strip. They would compliment the QBs well and strip builders.

Either way, those agromax folks are greasy for doing a direct copy and I won't be giving them any business for UV bulbs or anything else. I will tell anyone I can to avoid them. I do buy LEDs from other companies that innovate such as chilledtech and cutter as well as HLG. Its nice that with DIYing LEDs, you can support the efforts of various companies that innovate and/or contribute to the community.

Interesting #s they're spewing with conformal coating over the sammie chips.......supposedly? Polymer will lower output, Ppfd calc with a handheld for that inaccuracy .

Business ethics left with the handshake long ago, lol, never really existed...........using "550" is a little scummy I guess, it's their ballpark wattage draw . Only so many ways to stick rectangular pcb boards on a rectangular heatsink/frame using a rectangular brain to assemble.....

I wouldn't buy it for flowering cannabis when others offer 660nm mono supp. on "white" boards/strips now
