Afghan ...how does it look ??

Nice looking plants.should be huge. I was worried at first I didn't veg my clones long enough but I've never grown this strain before and it ended up being perfect bc of my 3 1/2 foot height limit. Wish I had more space but it is what it is. I just spent a shit load at the hydro store, got a new mountain air carbon filter and a new vortex fan and the smell is gone. I am amazed.i made my own exhust muffler/silencer and it works great. The fan sounded like I coulda strapped that shit to my back and flew around at first. I made a box filled with auralex sound isolation panels to go over the fan and with that and the muffler it's barely noticeable . Also got a new scope. It's 30 to 100x and it was 18 bucks. I don't really like it tho bc u have to hold it on the buds and if its not just right I can't see shit. Wish I would have got ur post first.


Ive heard you can take a trimming of a sugar leaf and look at it on a table but I'm not sure if a leaf will provide the same info as a bud would. Anyhow it shouldn't be much longer till they are done, trying to decide now if and when I should flush for a week . Seems to be a pretty debatable topic on here. Thx for the info tho , and no..... I wouldn't flush, personally I would just lower the nutes I put in her the last week.

def. flush...you want the purest bud possible...if you don't flush for at least 2 weeks your bud will be harsh...count on it!

Flush the big heated debate.

Your smoke won't be harsh if you cure/dry properly.

Well I checked last night and every trich is cloudy. So I dumped the nutes and cleaned my res' and ph'd the water to 5.6 . They have swelled like crazy and are lookin good. The trichs turned milky pretty quick bc last Sunday (a week from last night when I started to flush) they were pretty much all clear. So I guess I'm gonna flush for about ten days , as that's what my buddy I got the clones from does and he says its perfect for the afghan strain. In excited to see if they still continue to get bigger over the next 10 days. Honestly I would be happy with the results if I cut em now.

All depends on your style of high sir smokes alot
If you want what I call a "Working" or "Social" high I recommend cutting while you see amber trichomes just starting to come in at roughly 5%.
If you want what I call a "Binge eating" high I'd wait at least 2 more weeks before you chop and get 30-40% amber trichomes.

Working/Social high is when it's mainly in your head, makes you giggly, happy, while still maintaining mobile functions so you can do your normal routine during the day.
Binge eating high is what I like to call it when you smoke and all you want to do is watch cartoons, eat junk, or fall asleep.

Ya this being a 100% indica strain I believe I'll more than likely get a munchy/couchlock high but I am gonna take her with very few amber trichs so I can get the best of both worlds hopefully. I'm normally a sativa guy but I don't really have space in my small cab for them so I will be sticking to mainly indica or indicate dominant hybrids. I just wanted to know if the pistils looked "receded " to u guys. I'm gonna flush for atleast 10 days so hopefully that'll be just right. Thx for the input. Peace

I personally wouldn't flush but that's just my opinion.
I'm a believer in it just stresses / hurts your plants, and possibly yield.

I'd just cut down nutes in those 10 days, first feeding 3/4th strength, then 2/4th, then 1/4th, then a tiny bit, then if you really want to just water & mollasses after that till harvest.

Ok awesome. Well I ended up just adding the humbolt nutrients "ginormous " to the water its 0-18-16 . I didn't add a whole lot. The ppms are at 400. I may leave it like that for a week then flush with plain water for a few days. I figured that it'll be gasping for any nutes it can get so why not put a high P and K booster in , who knows I could be way wrong by doing this but I guess it's just trial and error. I've got a buddy that never flushes more than 3 days if at all and he grows good tasting stuff and the guy I got these afghan clones from has been growing the shit out of them for 6 or 7 years now and he swears by a ten day flush. I am positive on one thing tho and that's the drying and curing. Gonna try and cure for atleast 2 months if not longer. I'm in no hurry , my buddy gives me the white lightning and sharks breath for damn near dispensary prices. Anyway I'm rambling , thx for all the helpful responses. Peace

Looks good, with a good dry and a nice 1 month cure you should have yourself some top grade stuff.

I'm sure hoping for that. I intend to slow dry till they snap and I intend to cure correctly for atleast two months if not longer. I've smoked my buddies and its the shit. Hope I've done him proud. Thx for lookin man. Peace

So within the last week they've turned purple , almost black looking. The buds have swelled a ton. The trichs are still all milky , don't really see any amber. I'm gonna continue to flush for another week and check the trichs every night. What ya think ?? Peace

Amber means you've gone too far. You want as close to all milky as possible. Now may be the best time to chop them

Ya I'm chompin at the bit. I want a little amber cuz I like the couch lock high as well. I may chop on wed or thurs but I kinda wanna see what another week will do bc they have swelled a ton in the last 5 days. I just don't wanna chop to early so I figured if I chop as soon as I see a few amber ill be good.thx for the fast ass reply man. Peace
