Afghan auto topping experiment

I've learned that it's best to top an auto between days 14 and 21. Give it five or six days to recover and then LST can begin. What I need to remember next time is that topping at the 3rd node will produce six dominant branches, 4th node eight dominant branches, 5th node 10, etc etc.

Next time around, I'll top at the 3rd or 4th node. I topped this CBD Crack (now at day 50) at the 5th node at day 21.
Defoliation has been pretty heavy and pretty regular but having such a short plant (a little over ten inches) in a container that can't be rotated in such a small space makes LST and defoliation kind of a pain in the ass. But, as far as pains in the asses go, this is about as enjoyable as they get.

Oh here we go again... The minute something good comes along, there's always someone shitting on it. Well go shit in someone else's box will you?

I've been growing bulk for 47 years off and on. You're bound to come across something special in that time don't you think?

Here's some in 3 gallon smart pots (with 2 gallons of soil). The one on the left is 6' tall.

Enough said.

And quit hating on everything I post you douche.
Everything is alright once the boomer comes in and talks about his 100 years of growing anx getting nasty. Is it still light out and bedtime?

An autoflower only needs to be topped once. Why bother keeping stressing it out. Nailed it, between day 14 and 21 is perfect time to top it. I always top after a feed when I look the next day and it's just right at that taking off moment, then I top just once.

These 2 plants are auto sweet skunks and have been topped once with no other training... 3ft x 3ft tents.

God damn awesome plant!

I am new grower, first plant drying. Only have grown autos so far, interestingly, all of the first 3 plants have started to act squirrelly around 30 days. Big fans turning yellow, and/or brown spotting. I "adjusted" the first a lot, the second less and am going to just let 3 go with just water for now.

Sounds like the soil ran out of nutrients and it’s hungry.

i’m not taking sides or even getting involved, but damn son, those are some really large Autos. I grow in those same white smartpots and grow multiple autos outdoor each year, but I’ve never seen them get that big at MY grow....I’ve only been at this for 30-ish years though....hopefully my next 17 years i’ll figure this out too
