Hi,
what is better, to have in 1m² big tent, one very big bucket 1m² with 9 holes and 9 plants inside (all roots are together inside)
or
nine small buckets (total 1m²) and in every bucket one plant?

9 buckets means 9x reading ph and ec, 9x adjusting ph and ec, 9x changing water 9x cleaning, 9x air stones and tubing. All this work combined with huge water temp problems. You can of course connect the smaller buckets but then they might leak and you create a lot of weak points- probable fails in the system It makes no practical sense. It is great idea to have bigger res. You virtually save ton of work- only adjusting ph once or twice per week compared with everyday is huge time saver. The minus point is that your roots might get tangled up.
