you do need the nutes but one for veg and one for flower will run you about 40bucks for both. and you can flower in the same dwc you vegged in just switch the water/nutes every two weeks accordingly.

Wow dogg that's an awesome set up. I wish I could do somethin like that but I'm aiming for something smaller though. I plan on starting with four or three seeds and seeing what I can grow with that. It looks like you're having a great grow with your method but it seems too big for me. Thanks for the tips and ideas though much appreciated.

I don't want to get into the whole ag debate but I also think people should grow how they want to grow with out someone being so condescending toward the method they choose. to each his or her own. after all its not how you grow it its just that you grow it.

The dwc was his idea he already knows better than to try and grow a plant to harvest in the ag cause they blow im not sayin they cant grow a harvest im just saying they won't be nearly as good as another similarly priced set up.

Umm i wasn't talking about his choosing the dwc i meant that people who want to try the ag should do if they have the money to spend on one. some like it some don't.

but honestly just cause there are a few ag grows that have went decently how many more have produced minimal if any results compared to other similarly priced set ups? so when i suggest not getting the ag in favor of somthing that will usually produce more favorable results for the same price why risk it unless your just being stubborn. you get the ag for 200 and maybe it works for you maybe it doesn't, and if it doesn't you just bought a $200 cloner and you end up quitting or getting something else.

most of the time when people mess up with the ag its because they don't know what they are doing...its not the ag...so with any system if they don't know what they are doing they will fail everytime...i read up on growing for about 2 months before i started and everything went fine...so do your reading before you grow everybody

the aerogarden is great for growing herbs like dill basil ect but i dont think i would bother putting ganja in mine not worth the time especially with the factory lights i ould be suprised if you get an oz for all your work

It seems like LR and LR crosses really are perfect for an aerogarden, I don't think anyone expects to be getting big yields but growing is rewarding and fun, and heck not everyone wants or needs several ounces. LR strains are small enough that all the issues from growing regular strains would not be a problem. It is just a shame you can't clone autoflower strains.

Yes, you could just buy it for cheaper than the set up but smoking something you grew must be much more satisfying.

I wonder if the newest pro models with the improved lighting means you don't need to buy extra cfls (although obviously more light is always better, but then it is not so much an all in 1 system).

I have not read that issue of high times but if it is in there then clearly it has gained some recognition.

my opinion of the aerogarden in one word... GAY

Hey man, I am not picking on you, your quote was just appropriate for my post...

I agree 100% with anyone that says that there are cheaper and or better ways to grow our medicine, 100%.

BUT, I must point out that some of us, not only don't consume that much, but also have serious space/discretion issues.

If I can create a "sea of green" with 3 or 4 of these little systems, and harvest 1/2 oz every 2 weeks, I will be supplying ALL of my needs, to include my buddies coming by...

I can do all this inside of my closet, without the need to do anything but shut the door to make it invisible.

It is virtually silent, and the electricity usage is imperceptible.

Then it gets personal... I live in Bush Alaska... the nearest Home Depot or grow store is more than 400 miles away... and there are no roads... so fabricating my own system is not out of the question, the Aerogarden just makes it a simple plug'n play set up.

So, actually, although there are bigger, better, cheaper packages out there, the Aerogarden fit the bill so perfectly for my needs that I would never try to build something else...

I will be adding some more cfl's with a warmer end of the spectrum for the final flowering, but the key is to stay small.

I am hoping to never have to raise the hood all the way up. Keep it small. Do it often.

Every other system that I saw, I criticized, TOO BIG... I considered one of those PC boxes but decided on the Aerogarden.... I am happy I did...
