What do i need to start mt auto akXauto KUsh. do i need net pots that are 1 inch wide or what. or do i need something some kind of medsium from manufacturer. I am Going to use it untill they flower hard then put the 400 w HPS over the aero. What kind of nutes & can I use coco coir or rockwool & Hydroyron for medium in the regular aero with a net basket even though the holes are only 1 1/4 inch wide? Also does it automatically keep the PPM & Ph @ a constant for whatever you are trying to grow such as tomatoes lowryders with AK47s from the Hindu Kush Area Fully AUTOMATIC? Question is does it regulate the nutes fully the ppm is auto?

Tek, what lighting schedule did you have for your plants? Did you adjust them as they are autoflowering? If so, did you also adjust the nutes you gave them because the foxfarm plan is for standard strains I believe. I read you can leave autoflower strains on 24h light throughout the entire life.

Do you measure the pH and EC? pH testers are thankfully cheap but EC aren't :(.

I have an Aerogarden Pro 100.
I will be planting Lowryder AK-47 the third week of September.
Since it's self-flowering, what nutrient should I use? I see a lot of posts about Fox Farm, but there are three types and I'm not sure how to use them.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Isn't the AG 200 PRO good enough right out of the fox for 3 small lowryder 2 plants? I know everybody always assumes more light and foxfarm nutes are the way to go, but has anyone tried using the system as is with the nutes designed for this system?

I just have the black standard that cost $169 and grew one killer LR2 using the aerogarden that yeilded about 1 O. It would have been more, but I had a male and let it polinate the fem before I pulled it. About 1 O and hundreds of LR2 seeds. I used the aerogarden nutes but did add a few CFL's for extra light, but I don't think it made a big difference. I had one going before this grow without the CFL's and the buds were just as fat. I don't even think about messing with the other nutrients anymore, no need. Some insist it's the only way to go, but then you have to worry about the ph and could burn your plants up trying to balance it. The aerogarden nutes have buffers that keep the ph balanced all the way through. I prefer the AG nutes.

This time around, I added a small waterstone that seems to be helping quite a bit. For less than 30 bucks, you could invest in a couple of CFL's from Lowe's and a small airstone from Wal-Mart or a pet store (in the aquariums). I would get the airstone first. You will be fine without, but the stone and extra light should help.

I had a total of two grows in my entire life. The first one, I messed up. It was just some random bagseed but was doing real well until I messed with the light cycle. I forced it to flower too early thinking it would get too big and then tried to get it to start flowering again after it started maturing. Don't do that. It still produced some decent stuff but I learned from my mistake. THe second grow was the LR2. I planted 3 seeds, one was male and two females. I killed the other female trying to move it to another spot for more light. The roots were too long and tangled at that point. THe one that died was growing in true lowryder form, short and one straight cola. The other (the one that survived) showed some of its hybrid genes, with several colas (the big tops of bud) and a mix of indica and sensi leaves. The LR2 was so easy. It started flowering automatically at 3 to 4 weeks and matured naturally.

These were my first 2 times ever trying to grow the stuff myself and I got better shit than I can get on the street. Yes, you can do it without the extras. Enjoy.

hey tek I was wondering if you could offer some advice. I have 2 lowryders in my ag and one is male the other turned hermie and has seeds. my thought is that the seeds would produce hermies and i could use them to pollenate my next garden and maybe get feminized seeds? would that work? this is my 1st time ever to grow a hermie. i thought lowryders couldn't turn hermie but i'm sure i caused it because i wasn't thinking and burned the hell out of them when they were seedlings.

Here is the official grow guide from the breeder of Lowryder 1 & 2 - Lowryder growguide , the basic notes I took from this were

"As a rule of thumb, treat Lowryders like seedlings for the first 2-3 weeks, then switch them onto a light bloom program. So, you feed them a seedling/transplanting formula the first 2 weeks, then switch to a bloom fertilizer with something like a 5-10-5 or 1-2-1 ratio of N-P-K."

Don't worry, you'll spot them long before they polinate. You'll see them about the same time as the white hairs stretching for the males. Though, in some of my grows one or two would likely bloom later. I had one lag behind under a canopy for the entire 8-9weeks of the others, and then take off for 4-5 weeks after the others were pulled.

Typically, 3-4 weeks. The boys stand out. You can't miss 'em. They'll grow sacks all over before they open up. You'll have at least a week from when they start showing to pick them. You can even wait a bit and pull them right before and extract some pollen to germinate 1 or 2 buds. My first grow, I let them go and got hundreds of LR2 seeds, and a good yeild. At 7 bucks a pop, and the import process, its well worth some seeds on the first go, and you'll learn a lot (the time cycle-approximate yeilds-potency-correction of errors-etc...). You'll be surprised how easy it all is, especially in the AG with LR2's.

BTW, I usually pop at least 5 in at a time, sometimes 7. The machine can handle 2 or 3 fems.
