FLOWERING- DAY 50 (DAYS SINCE GERMINATION- 74 )

SICC- Thanks man. Yeah they are really smelling great....and the stickiness has me drooling everytime I get in there and visit with them. 2 more weeks I'm thinking.

Mr.Natural- The tallest of the lasses is about 4 3/4 feet. The flowers on her are amazing.

Mugzie101- I am excited. The end of my 1st grow is near! Good timing too, I have some family coming for the holiday at the end of the month.

krozone- The biggest girl almost quadrupled in height after I went 12/12. The other 2 grew about as tall as I expected.....and only tripled their height.

The grow! I went and bought a small microscope with a light built in. I got mine at Radio Shack. It's perfect for checking out the trichs. Most of the trichs are a clear white.....but a very few are beginning to cloud a tad. I'm pretty sure 2 more weeks will do the trick. I'm going for 3/4 amber trichs. I've heard that gives you a bit more of a full body lock...and that's the medicineI am looking for.

Sorry no pictures in this update. The ladies are sleeping and I don't want to ruin their beauty sleep. I'll get some shots up ASAP though!

FLOWERING- DAY 58 (DAYS SINCE GERMINATION- 82 )

Just a very fast update. I started the flush and the gals will be on nothing but water for about 7 days or so.

I'm hoping to harvest arounf this time next week. The big lass is around 75% clear 25% milky on the lower buds....and about 60% clear and 40% cloudy on top. I'm hoping another week does the trick.

I may have to harvest the big girl and let the 2 smaller ones go for a bit more. Seems like that bag seed resulted in 2 different strains.

Updated pics coming soon.

Nice man! I've read your journal, but from your perspective, did you like the way the strain grew and would you grow it again? Or are you going to start over?

Thanks guys!

The drying is going well.....I cheated a bit last night and took a small "preview"....it was excellent.....and I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

I wasn't sure what strain it was I grew...it was just some shake seed.

I'm planning on taking a few weeks off and then start up a few Lemon Haze. I'm doing it once again in the AG....but only 2 this time....just growing my own meds....so don;t need a large production.

I'll post a yield after I'm done drying and curing.

Just got done jarring the dry. The yield looks pretty sweet......but I won't know what I ended up with till after I'm done with the curing.

Here's a photo while I wait.....I think about 3-5 days on the curing and it should be about right!

So you did this with a AG and a couple extra CFL's?? I'm pulling out my aero garden! Any opinions on what to use as replacement media in the pods? I'm thinking some rockwool I guess.

I started my first aerogarden 3/9/10 using Fox Farm nutes and 2 extra 40W 5000K CFL Bulbs clipped on the sides of the AG, a timer for lights, an extra air stone, a power strip, 6 seeds in an open closet with a curtain to close . I got sick and left lights on 24/7 for over a month and just added plain water when needed. Too sick to do more. 6 weeks in, the illness gone , I dumped the reservoir, rinsed the roots, refilled with water and Fox Farm for foliage, and in error reset the light timer for 12/12. I also lost 2 plants. The 4 plants left went nuts and grew like crazy. End of May I switched the side lights to 40W 2700K CFL Bulbs, dumped then refilled the reservoir with Fox Farm Big Bloom and water but put in the Fox Farm recommended amount instead of 1/2. Within hours the plants were showing signs of nute burn so dumped the reservoir and refilled with the proper nute amount. Caught it quick so no problem. A week ago I reduced light to 10 hours and found some boys just starting on one of the branches only. I pulled the branch and air dried the tips. Yesterday I topped several plants as there was no more room to pull over the tops and they were touching the top lights. This morning the first hairs of budding can be seen.
Bottom line, I used bag seeds , I've abused these plants like crazy and they're still living, thriving and going to set bud. The tips from the boy branch I pulled are real stoney so I can't wait to try some buds in a month or so. I have no doubt my yield would be much higher had I dealt with the lights/nutes/dump/refill better comma but it shows even if you abuse the heck out of the plants they are weeds and will survive and thrive.
I just started my 2nd areogarden with similar seeds and the same light set up as before but this time will stay on top of the optimum light and nute schedule and anticipate greater yield. I'll try cloning those plants and put the clones in the areogarden that will be harvested in a month or so. (Didn't want to clone the current plants as even though they are very healthy they have been badly abused.)
What I've found is the learning curve isn't that big. Proper nutes and lots of good light set properly are the keys. I found zero need for the figure 8 cord. I just plug the AG and extra lights into a power cord and plug the power cord into the timer. The extra air stone is plugged in separately and runs 24/7.
