aeroflo root rot, what is it?

Hi, my name is George, I've had a problem the last two laps. My setup is: aeroflo, inlet water 7.6 ph and 0.7 ec (because it's terrible, it can't be done otherwise), chill keeps the temperature of the solution at max 22c, room temperature 24-28c. I put the same genetics every time, my friend supplies them to me. the first problem that started bothering me: when planting a clone in the system, no roots... after a week, white "slime" appears in the sprout, the roots will not go into the water at all. After changing the solution, the clones will start to spice up. Flowers grow well in the growth phase. After switching to 12/12, after about a week it starts to rot and randomly die (some flowers that grew in good condition die in one day).
The second problem: about 5 flowers die for nothing and from day to day even if they are in the same system and it is the same genetics.
after each finished round, I disinfect everything and before I put on new clones, I pour about 300 ml of 30% hydrogen peroxide into the solution for 24 hours for 200 liters and after 24 hours I soot. It will be my problem
some root rot, but I don't know how to get rid of it. I will add a photo in the next post. Maybe I forgot something, so ask. Please help only those who know what I'm talking about. From what I have learned, chlorine shock or bleach could help (I have no experience with this. I would prefer to use beneficial bacteria / fungi, for example Trichoderma or Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Will this help me solve my problem? Hi, I was having the same problem in a stinkbud system when I stumbled here in riu on a thread about brown algae. Light hitting any wet areas, brown algae will grow and attack your plant roots with root rot like symptoms. It was like 7 years ago so I can’t find that thread sorry bro.

Calcium/Sodium hypochlorite. I've used regular bleach in hydro for years. It's way more effective than peroxide at sterilizing since H2O2 only has a residual effect of a couple of hours instead of days compared to bleach.

Aim for 1ppm in HP Aero and 3ppm in DWC and low pressure systems. In Coir i just run 1ppm residual in the tank. Adding every 3-4th day. Here's the ppm dilution calculator:

hi, thanks for the response, can I use sodium hypochlorite from the beginning on the shutters? I read that it should not be mixed with any acid, but I use phosphoric acid to adjust the pH. is it also suitable as a system disinfectant? In what proportion. Thanks

Should I buy hypochlorite with calcium or rather without? Does hypochlorite affect pH? Thanks

Hello, thanks for the response, it is true that a little light penetrates into the tank, unfortunately, the system is poorly designed, so it cannot be completely prevented. How did you end up solving it?

The concentration of 1-3ppm is really negligible and won't affect anything. It's even hard to registrer that on chlorine strips. It's all about the concentrations in chemistry and reactions. Cheers!

In the small concentrations it won't affect anything. I use sodium hypochlorite since it's easier to find cleaner products containing it here. I use regular unscented bleach with 5% sodium hypochlorite. It is a sterilizing agent and disinfectant, that's what's it's used for when cleaning the toilet lol!

It depends on the country and products available really, but it doesn't matter which one you choose. People will advice you to use Pool Shock in the form of Calcium hypochlorite granules and that will last you a lifetime. I just find it easier and faster to use bleach already in solution.

we have available sodium hypochlorite 15% liquid, and in a calcium-free version. or calcium hypochlorite 70% granules. I have no idea what the difference is

You can make stock solutions with the Calcium hypochlorite granules, there's a lot of instructions on how to do so on here. 15% in solution is crazy strong and would last you a lifetime to. The only practical difference is how ju apply the products.
