I've got a question and I guess this is a good place to put it. I've done a grow in the AG before but ended up losing my crop because I had to leave it for two weeks. I tried to set up the thing in the bathtub while I was gone and had a tube running in the res with a drip from the tub but I didn't account for light getting into the res. so I ended up getting root rot. Man am I bummed. Anyway. . . I've started a new grow but I don't have the starter nutes or growing nutes and so I thought I would try starting the seeds with the paper towel method (wet paper towels with the seeds in between) but it's been 2 days and nothing seems to be sprouting. Anyone else have any ideas how to start the seeds without putting them in the pods and using the starter nutes?

Youre really not suppose to nute for 2 weeks. They have enough nutrients to last for about then. It might take time. Yet there is other methods.

Prep your seed by freezing it overnight (this acts like a winter freeze and helps with germing.
Once frozen, dunk in a glass of warm (not hot) water for an hour.
Get a small tupperware that can seal.
Place a moist (almost wet) paper towel at the bottom of the tupperware.
drop your prepared seeds onto the paper towel
put another moist (almost wet) paper towel on top of the seeds.
close and seal the tupperware
keep in a room with a temp of about 70-80 deg and check on seeds every 12-24 hrs.
Once the seed has a taproot that is about 1cm long remove from tupperware.
GENTLY place the seed (using tweezers) in the foam seed up and root down.
turn on your AG and watch it grow.

This germing method is 100% effective if your seeds are mature. Immature or overly mature seeds will still work this way but as with any method can create weak plants that die in early growth or are weak against disease.
