Aero Cloner Questions

G'day all Laceygirl here, with a couple of questions for anyone who uses an aerocloner...I built mine about an hour ago... Just waiting for the silicone to dry...

1. How often are the clones misted? I've read conflicting info...On for 1 minute and off for 4 seems to be the official, but that means I need a digital timer with 288 on/off timer settings... Thats alot in just 24 hours....

2. Other than low pH water, do I need anything in my reservoir? I was told Clonex rooting solution, but here in australia, its a gel... Can I put that in the reservoir? I didn't think I could..

3. Could I use Rhizotonic? Would it be better????

Any information would be appreciated..

G'day laceygirl -

1. I spray my clones 24 hours per day under 24 hours of light and have a 100% success rate doing it this way. I thought about buying a recycling timer but that money went into a computer for my flowering room instead. No real need for an expensive timer in a cloner, if you ask me.

2. You're talking about two different products here. Clonex cloning gel is what you dip the clones in and the cloning solution is what you add to the solution in your reservoir, although the latter is unnecessary, in my opinion. The cloning gel is great stuff but I seem to get the same results whether I use cloning solution in my reservoir or not.

3. I've never used Rhizotonic before, so I can't speak to that.

i use both cant hert. on the gel and solution in the water as needed. i do 24 hour as well and never had one drop on me. but ant cloning solution will work. gel in water really dont think it matters. it will just get washed off by sprayers

Thanks guys, yeah, I can't really justify a $256.00 timer (thats how much they cost here in Australia, believe me I've looked) so 24 hours will be the go...

That's the same principal as an aerogarden too... They don't have timers, they mist 24/7, and look at the results...

I see youve already decided..but I too do 24hours and I've gotta say #uck some $250 timer.
