aero cloner crispy dying leaves help!

I have an off brand aeroponic cloner 25 site. After having issues with stem rot, I started adding pool shock solution as suggested and added a cycle timer. No more seem rot but now some are wilting on the small new leaves.
Room temps up till now 68-74
18 hours cfl light. Not too bright. 6 hours dark
Res temp 70-75
Ph 5.2 adjusted 2x per week.
1 gram per gallon pool shock solution added 10 ML every 3 days
Used arrowhead spring water.
Added 8 tsp of clonex solution
're cut clones underwater at 45 angle and dipped in root tone powder. Waited 2 hours then turned on pump ( cycle timer 1 min on 5 min off)
They looked great until day 6 then several of the smaller cuttings the tips turned crispy and sort of black. Is that from being cold? Do I need a humidity dome? Should I add an aquarium heater? Set to what temp? I have a space heater also should I turn it up? What room temp?

1. Try to lower your water temps to 68 to 74.
2. No need to have ph'ed water. Just plain tap water will do. Your clones can't take in water because it doesn't have roots so you don't need to ph your water plus ph of 5.2 is too low for hydro.
3. Water ever pool shock is no need to use for clones
4. Dipping your clones in powder is just a waste. The sprayers will just wash it away.
5. Why would you want a heater for. You don't want to heat up your water.
6. You don't need a humidity dome in your setup.
7. Make sure where ever you are getting your clones from that they are coming from a healthy mother plant otherwise an unhealthy mother plant just might produce unhealthy clones.
Keep it simple. My setup is similar to your yours. A homemade stinkbud aerocloner. I have used tap water and tap water with clonex solution. Either will work. I have a timer of 1 minute on and 5 minutes off.

My tapw water is from a well and very hard. 450+ppm that is why I used narrowed spring water. Reverse osmosis then a few minerals are added for taste 6-7 ppm. I haven't had any more get wilting leaves last night after I turned up the heater. Also I isolated my cloning room by closing the door. Now it stays 72-73 degrees constantly without dropping down when the bud room lights are off. One of my bros came be and said it looks like wilting due to cooler temps this month. Temp consistency seems crucial for clones. Also I spray them 2x a day with water ph 6.3 used to use cold water now I leave the spray bottle in the bud room 85 degrees.

Hello. I see this is a couple months old but I have been having the problem with the new growth turning just like your pics...did anyone find out why this is happening? if so please please let me know I have lost 4 batches and seems like i have tried everything. Thanks!!!!!

It isn't the answer you want to hear but...you need ONLY PUT WATER IN YOUR CLONER. NO CLONEX, OR ANYTHING ELSE. Just water. Put in 10% bleech 90% water and run for an hour then let everything air dry overnight. Use new inserts if you had problems last round. Once you get it dialed in you can re-use your inserts by scrubbing them in the 10% bleach solution and allow everything air dry. Room temp from 72 to 75 is good put a space heater in your cloning area. Get a humidity/temperature gague (home depot) that keeps track of the highs and lows for you. Dont use root tone or anything judt water. Works every time. If your temps are higher than 75 you may need to add a couple drops of bleach to the cloner every 3 days to kill any bacteria. Should take 3 weeks or so be patient. Also dont damage, scrape the stem or anything else. Cut just above a node (branch) at a 45º angle and immediately put in a cup of water to prevent an air embolism from killing your cuttings. Thats it and it works every time!
