Advice required, multiple issues

Any advice appreciated.

I'm a noob, one successful grow under my belt.

I didn't start a second grow as I was going away on holiday.

A mate gave me a seed (lemon was all he could tell me?!) So I planted it and left it to enjoy the sun outdoors.

When I went away he kept it in his back garden. Upon return I placed it in my room and soon after flipped.

Shortly after that I found a caterpillar on it.

There are signs the plant is still being eaten, it's been through a lot of stress and I'm not sure if it's hermied.

Could a more experienced eye advise please, I will cull if necessary as I will clean my room out and start a new one.IMG_20161004_064103.jpg

those are not balls. Most plants produce them, just weird calyx's that come out of stems for some reason. If you have gotten rid of the pest the plant should be fine,.
